here is an awesome example: there is a 100% garuntee that if you use only throws, you will never get a double ko.
regardless judgment is predictable and if you seriously care about winning a judgment you can just get a better grade than the other person, alternatively: this is going to happen maybe once in the entire tournament so who seriously gives a fuck.
after playing 3s enough, you will probably have an idea of the outcome of a judgement, so getting a double ko is literally a lose situation, similar to that of avoiding getting hit by a move, at all, you simply just must be able to outplay the other person and not let that hit you. its like saying chip damage is unfair because sometimes you just cant avoid getting hit with 1 pixel of health left, its in the game, deal with it.
KO and KSK were asked about judgment a while back and they said “its in god’s hands” so if THEY can’t predict that shit. i really doubt you or any of us can.
The only truly logical argument for judgment (which is at least what FMJ was using when he was talking about it) was that it’s a part of the game. Criteria aside, the game picks a winner.
Judgment favors some characters, (Chun-li anyone?) but at the end of the day, it is a part of the game. Personally I would much rather replay the match, but also it’s ultimately up to the tourney directors themselves.
I think it’s funny that people will defend “it’s part of the game” even when it’s clearly unnecessary and detrimental to the game. I think the question one should ask is whether it does anything positive for how the game plays, and in this case, no it doesn’t.
so we should just ban whatever doesn’t add anything to the game?
im not for judgement fyi, but the arguments against it are incredibly retarded. it doesn’t detract or create dumb imbalances within the game so why bother? why add extra effort to determining the outcome to the match when its already there and will work in a manner predictable enough to be avoidable?
YOu know whats more random than a double KO judgement? A REMATCH! lol. The Evo staff feel very strong about keeping games unaltered, if we start with pulling something as small and rare as judgemet it can become a slippery slope.
The former is highly highly debatable.
Who the hell is actually going to play in a way that will ensure a judgment win? It’s not like people expect to be double KOed.
It’d be retarded anyway. It’d be like an FPS player not shooting 90% of the time because he doesn’t want to hurt his accuracy rate. It would make matches unbelievably slow and boring. You might as well determine the winner based on your grade at the end instead of who actually won because it’s about as relevant.
Imagine if Daigo had lost here because they accepted the judgment decision. I can’t believe anyone’s actually stupid enough to want judgment to be standard. How good are you gonna feel when there’s a judgment in the finals of a tournament, and you have to hand the trophy to the guy who got the decision instead of doing a tiebreaker?
Also, certain things are still banned at EVO. Glitches and certain types of infinites for example. Akuma is banned in ST. You wanna bring him back into play too? We can have more of this: http://youtube.com/watch?v=kx2oevVXrH8.
How is a rematch in any way random anyway? If there was no clear winner, the logical thing to do would be to play again.
Think before you say something.
I personally want Judgement out of Tourny play because It doesn’t determine the difference of skill between the two players.
Although I’d like it to be in the game because It’s more fun, Evo Is for players to come together and make friends rigth?..
So, I’d rather it be out of the game, But At the same time, It’s more fun with it.
