JR beat Tokido at EVO? O_o

Yo I don’t know who posted it but GamerBee was on a stick, I played him, dude was beastly with safe jump setups against my cammy and punished EVERY teleport with U1. Scary shit.

He was, me and him were in the NorCal room on Friday night watching Tokido beast on people. I had my eyes on the screen and I didn’t realize he was sitting behind me the whole time haha.

I was playing 3s with him moments after, I had no idea he beat Tokido. Whacky things happen, no need to complain or theorize what would have happened if one attack were replaced with another or properly connected.

JR clearly doesn’t use Gouki the way other’s do, but he gives it his all, enjoys it and he occasionally wins!

you guys really feel jr outplayed tokido? when i watch this i feel just the opposite. i dont know who is better tokido or infiltration, but jr isnt really in there with those two. i mean jr is risking the entire match on one move… if he misses he loses, if he lands it he might win. obviously he isnt even trying to outplay tokido if he does this.

match 1: round 1 jr does well. round 2 perfect for tokido. round 3 is pretty even the super that jr does is after he whiffs a jumping hp. i guess you could call that an educated guess?

match 2: tokido dominates the whole time. jr does a desperate ultra at the end of round 1.

match 3: round1: he is getting beat up pretty bad; lands an ultra off a wakeup jump? seemed pretty deperate to me.
round2: tokido does an ultra after teleport - this is the only ultra or all the matches that isnt what most would consider random or desperate. jr does another random ultra at the end of the round tokido misses the punish and loses.

so, jr doesnt land 90% of his ultras/supers he lands 50%. i would say that is pretty random…more like a coin flip.

did you see jr was stuffing a lot of demon flip/dive kick stuff? jr basically almost had free jump-ins. the only thing was tokido only had harder hitting combos though he dropped a few sweeps and combos. dude was outplayed in those session.

Yeah, granted I used akuma a grand total of twice and went 6-2 but I got 4th in my pool…tied for 49th? decent but I didn’t get out of pools so =(. I lost by 4% to Ricky Ortiz (SOOOOO close yet sooo far away) and Joon a ken player (got bodied by safe jumps and creative throw ticks)

I MM’d probably all of canada but your area. Toronto/Windsor/BC/etc… I lost to a buff rog named JS masters and beat everyone else I played, a rufus/honda/rog/akuma/ryu (air who’s still in japan, he doesn’t play against cammy so YEY!)

Met Rugi randomly in the salty suite. I lost to eita last round last match that dude talks MAD shit when playing (I saw teleport, Thought hey, free ultra/win, input… EX DP FAIL, well apparently I didn’t have meter for ultra, I then got vortexed into death)

Good to see new people playing akuma, for a while there it was just the same peeps, I still use akuma for some matches (guile/fuerte/gief) but otherwise have switched to DAT ass cammy. My akuma is still on point though even if it slightly affected by my aggression with cammy.
