Is it really a surprise that JR could beat Tokido? JR is a proven tourney player with a history of success at Evo.
On another note - I went 5-2 in my pools. I simply cannot keep my game at a high level waiting 50+ minutes between matches.

Yeah I noticed people like arturo and justin wong playing on the stream like 20 minutes between matches, don’t know how they worked that out
The Semis are very interesting to say the least…most of the JP players are in losers.
Too early to say, but perhaps Japan is indeed only an extremely small step ahead of the US in terms of top level players?
the game just came out,and its not even out on the arcades yet.that said,i do believe that there are a lot of underrated american players

The worst part is you can’t even leave your pool area or you will get DQ’d. So they expect you to sit and vegetate until you get called. That is not good for me. I simply can not adjust to that type of waiting. I suppose that technically makes me a worse player than those who can. I will never have any success at Evo unless i find a way to keep sharp while waiting 50 minutes for the pool judge to call my name.
Nobody needs to make excuses considering that Tokido is still undoubtedly the better Akuma player. It’s pretty easy to get randomed out in this tournament format and most people were expecting at least several top players to get knocked out earlier than they should have. Congratulations to JR though.

I don’t play akuma but, that’s always my problem too. Waiting that long between matchs makes all of my warm-up pointless.
What do “the pros” do to keep themsevles on point between matches?
Pros don’t get DQ’d if they aren’t around so they can go and occupy themselves and return later.
You must be talking about 3s not SF4 cuz I bet you Tokido got Gimmick out plus mirror matches are sh1ty and doesn’t prove who’s better using that character.

I’m talking about any game JR plays, so that includes 3s (he’s been top 8 in 3s every evo he played in) and SF4, which he was top 25 last year.
No one is arguing about his 3s play.
