Alright, as promised, blog entry is up.
I’ll upload videos to it as time progresses. That stuff takes a long time compared to typetypetypetypetype.
Next, a post talking about “putting it all together”. I’ll cover stuff like spacing, options in tandem with one another, where Vega succeeds, and where he fails. This will lead into matchup guides as I will be able to say things like “Stay at this range in this MU” and people will know exactly why Vega should be there, and I can explain why the other character shouldn’t and what you can do in lieu of things you are making difficult / impossible / unsafe for them.
Also, since I did decide to start counter picking with Adon / T hawk I’ll probably make a post here and there explaining why I use Adon / Thawk and eventually as the matchup guides come out, I’ll probably add some more Adon / Thawk info to each guide as well.
The idea here is to make a guide for the competitive Vega player. I obviously provide no shortage of Vega-specific setups, tricks, tools, analysis, etc., but considering my priorities have changed it’s best the blog reflects them. Every matchup will start from a Vega-specific viewpoint and transition, if necessary, into a “Why I picked Adon / Thawk” explanation.
It’s obvious now that my opinion is, if you want to win high-level (outside your area) tournaments with Vega, counterpicking is useful. Hopefully more users here will begin to accept this as the last thing I want people to think is that i’ve given up on Vega. No, I’ve just decided to make it a priority to round out his weaknesses by adding to the potential of my backup characters.
So yeah, enjoy the blog, here’s a link before i forget http://jozhear.blogspot.ca and expect the next one up within the next couple of weeks. Then, matchups.
I might even make Adon / Thawk style “How-to-slash” posts but I wouldn’t expect those for a long time. I have passable Adon/ Thawk knowledge but I need to play both of them a lot longer to really get a “gestalt” for their plan like I have for Vega.
