Jozhear Blog

I’m writing an article for top tier tactics about the “evo experience”. like the hype matches and stuff, and watching in the ballroom.

As for the blog, I’ll be going more in depth about why I decided to start counter picking Vega’s bad matchups.

So yeah there’ll be a couple evo-related posts to look out for.

Alright, i should have the part 3 of the guide up very soon. Only a couple more entries and I should be able to pump more out 1 by 1.

Very much appreciated!

Alright, as promised, blog entry is up.

I’ll upload videos to it as time progresses. That stuff takes a long time compared to typetypetypetypetype.

Next, a post talking about “putting it all together”. I’ll cover stuff like spacing, options in tandem with one another, where Vega succeeds, and where he fails. This will lead into matchup guides as I will be able to say things like “Stay at this range in this MU” and people will know exactly why Vega should be there, and I can explain why the other character shouldn’t and what you can do in lieu of things you are making difficult / impossible / unsafe for them.

Also, since I did decide to start counter picking with Adon / T hawk I’ll probably make a post here and there explaining why I use Adon / Thawk and eventually as the matchup guides come out, I’ll probably add some more Adon / Thawk info to each guide as well.

The idea here is to make a guide for the competitive Vega player. I obviously provide no shortage of Vega-specific setups, tricks, tools, analysis, etc., but considering my priorities have changed it’s best the blog reflects them. Every matchup will start from a Vega-specific viewpoint and transition, if necessary, into a “Why I picked Adon / Thawk” explanation.

It’s obvious now that my opinion is, if you want to win high-level (outside your area) tournaments with Vega, counterpicking is useful. Hopefully more users here will begin to accept this as the last thing I want people to think is that i’ve given up on Vega. No, I’ve just decided to make it a priority to round out his weaknesses by adding to the potential of my backup characters.

So yeah, enjoy the blog, here’s a link before i forget http://jozhear.blogspot.ca and expect the next one up within the next couple of weeks. Then, matchups.

I might even make Adon / Thawk style “How-to-slash” posts but I wouldn’t expect those for a long time. I have passable Adon/ Thawk knowledge but I need to play both of them a lot longer to really get a “gestalt” for their plan like I have for Vega.

Oh jeez, no pictures in this one. But, still great job.

Great job, Jozhear!

Hey so anyone know what happened to jozhear?

He was one of the few vega players and after Canada cup last year it’s like he vanished.

Does anyone know if he still plays?

your avatar, your name, your signature, you are my best friend from now on

I aim to please ha.

He is back on fighting scene actually. I’ve searched some match of his for my channel, and was surprised to see recent ones. He was on Aprils Duels 2013 for instance. =)

On wow had no idea.

He looked a bit rusty in that match, actually both him and PR looked a bit off lol.

i’m around, i play online when i can, i’d like to attend more tournaments but real life often gets in the way. i’m graduated and etc so once i get a handle on real life i’m making an attempt to attend more tournaments in the US. i skipped Evo this year because of priorities at home, but will be there next year, and hopefully about a half dozen or so tournaments before than. next stop is canada cup in september.

edit: eager for vega buffs, i like the sound of +1 hit stun on c lp

Glad to see you back jozhear.

I respect the real life priorities, I’m the same way hence why I rarely make it out to tournents or even casual gatherings.

I really do hope the buffs male vega viable from this point forward I’d like to see him more present in tournament. Frankly the context centric style of SF4 is becoming a bit dull to watch, I miss just plain ole spacing and footsies winning the day.
