i have a Q, the frame data states that cl.mp is +3 making it +6 on CH IIRC, is a frame slower than cl.mk true, but cl.mk on CH is +5… that or my head is toying with me

ps. dynamic views are very good too

A while ago I looked at frame data and saw that cl. mp was +3 on hit… of course I was like WHOA that means if I count hit with cl. mp it’d be +6 on hit??? (meaning I could combo to c. mk with little pushback - those combos would be FAT damage)

wrong, it’s only +5. you only get 2 frame extra hitstun unlike the usual 3 on every other medium / heavy normal vega has (AFAIK)

Really disappoint when i learned that… so hope that answers your question.

For all i know frame data could be wrong and it’s +2 instead of 3, but I haven’t tested it. that would involve creating a set up where the cl. mp is meaty and since it’s got 3 active frames checking if it’s actually +5 on the last frame by trying to combo to c. hp.

Just a few questions :
— You mentioned LK ST and HK ST being throw invincible. Is that true on startup ? Can’t you be throw during the seven/4 initial frames ? 'cause I heard only the EX ST was invincible to throw. And as no one got hitbox other than the very imprecise ones of Arcadia, I don’t know who I must believe now X_X

— You mentioned RCF FADC being +4 on hit. No problem with that, his recovery being 22 frames, we take out 20 frames from the dash (+2) then we add the +2 of hitstun it’s +4. But on block, blockstun is -2 (according to EH frame data), meaning it would be 22 -20 -2 = +0, and not +1 ? Have I missed something ?

Well afaik all scarlet terrors are airborne on the first frame of start up, so they automatically hop over any throw

then again, I’m pretty sure you CAN be air-grabbed out of them meaty, so really i guess the proper way of saying it would be they beat ground throws since they just hop over them

As for the RCF FADC the reason I came up with +1 is I was wrong and you are right. I just looked at the frame data and there’s a 4 frame discrepancy between RCF hitting and not and I had thought it was 3. I will change that

That would explain everything, indeed. That mean I could go for LK ST instead of EX when sensing a throw. That means I will save meter.

I think they are airborne at second frame, they were before (previous versions), ST has had short grab invicibility since super, I dont know about the medium version i never use it (intentionally), then they dodge ground throws like joz said by being airborne.

on one hand L.ST is a better solution to avoid throws, in case you were wrong if whiffs more meaning there is no impact freeze which means there is much less time to react/charge execute a move for the opposition plus if you hit you can still dish the big damage by juggling with the EX version and in anycase it is less meter greedy.

on the other hand, EX.St extends much farther and gets into active at 5th frame so it will beat some frame traps especially those performed with low moves that L.ST does not.

btw nice interview joz. As for the flashy combos my favorite are
nj.HK >> L.ST ^^ EX.ST
or
nj.HK >> st.MK xx L.ST ^^ EX.ST
they are very simple to execute, and fairly short but I just feel visually they have a flowing backflipping harmony…
