So El, from this little claw free-for-all lol IYO what are Vega’s best options in this matchup? What gave sagat a run for his money? I have yet to play u but I have played a really good Gat (DJTMIT) and from playing him this matchup is usually like 9-1 in his favor… every other gat mainer gives me difficulty but I generally manage to ge the win - I guess they’re not as high a caliber as u or DJT.
On paper, and from what the guys here r saying, I’m thinking of focusing on blocking strings and punishing with standing jab (lmao??) and standing lk to c.mp (maybe??) Lol… idk there has to b some viable option for vega here, unless this match is broken and capcom repairs it in the future…
I really doubt Hectic was saying it’s literally a 9-1 matchup. He was simply saying that winning against DJT (who is a genuinely good Sagat) is very difficult and was wanting to know what options Vega has.

The option part as to what you do is the theory part. As for what you do after your options its a educated guess hence why its theory. Are you going to push st.mk or do Tiger Uppercut? Am I going to push cr.mk, throw, or block? Guessing games are theory. Footsies are not theory, what controls space is not theory, where i can safely push buttons isnt theory. options on what im going to do after you do something and taking into considiration your options are, are theory because im making an educated guess, which was the entire point of my post. What i can and cant do now in said situation, and how it affects the match up. Becasue guessing wrong isnt the same force it was in Vanilla.
btw if the match up was the same it still be 7-3 Sagat. Not 5-5 from what ive seen.
I could debate both those ratios in Vanilla and Super. That is to say I do not think it favored Sagat so much in Vanilla and I don’t know if Sagat can pull a 5/5 in this match in Super, but I’m still undecided on any sort of ratio right now.
