hmm, didn’t bother checking until now but my previous post got mucked up with the link and picture not showing up properly FML
i just remembered that diamond was shorter as a season compared to stardust, hence the OVAs to tide everyone over until vento drops in
hope they do all of the rohan one-shots all the way to millionaire village
Been re-watching Diamond wa Kudakenai and it finally hit me: OP 1 Crazy, Noisy, Bizarre Town is influenced by Yu Yu Hakusho opening song Hohoemi no Bakudan.
From the clips I’ve seen from the OVA and the current series I have to say the OVA has far better animation and character designs. The stands look and sound a lot better in the OVA. In terms of storyline I have no idea which is better. I wanted to start watching the current series this week but the fact that the animation isn’t up to par with the original 90’s series somewhat puts me off. Its like the Guyver anime remake looking a lot worse than the original. Anime today looks too polished and cartoony.
Lololol are you serious, homie? The Jojo OVAs are generally considered to have had taken too many liberties with the source material in terms of the plot which is understandable since it is somewhat if a short-term format.
The animation quality for both the tv series and OVAs are pretty much hit or miss but the Blu-ray release of Stardust fixes a lot of the inconsistencies from the broadcast version.
Lololol at current anime too polished and cartoony
Berserk 2017 would like a word with you…
The OVA’s are going to look better as they had a higher budget for each set of episodes but the OVA’s shit the bed with story and with how some fights play out. The animation is generally good for the most part though, during the last couple of episodes of the first OVA the characters get drawn in a really weird art style and they look stupid, the second OVA follows the same style. The anime is the better choice by far, just replace the N’Doul and D’Arby episodes with the OVA’s I guess seeing as they’re the only 2 good episode of the OVA.
EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot to mention that there’s only 13 episodes (7 from 93 and 6 from 2000 iirc) of the OVA vs 52(?) of the anime.
Manga > Anime > Me doing a 1 man show of the entire story >>>>>>>> OVA
So I saw JJBA Eyes of Heaven on PSN, and started watching youtube highlights of the game and anime over the week, who’d thought JJBA has such a legacy behind it? this reminds me when I looked at One Piece years back and first impression was like “that looks too dumb to be something special”, and then decided to explore and discover something great. Now JJBA looks like something at least somewhat interesting. was it partially inspired by Hokuto No Ken? some of the characters have that kind of look to them, though more stylish and over the top. JJBA also looks to have more diversity of powerful characters that can fight, as well abilities. and JJBA is ongoing! well JoJo fans sure are fortunate to have such a fascinating series.
The Kishibe Rohan OVA based on Millionaire Village is absolutely fantastic!
Props to David Production for the amazing work as the art and animation is gdlk; the warm-up sequence at the beginning was a nice touch.
Now they need to do all of the other one-shots!!!
There’s a few subbed versions floating around, go watch it before it gets taken down.
Jojo X Bulgari pop-up! Stando Powah X High Fashion!
It’s no secret that manga artist Hirohiko Araki, the creator of the internationally popular JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure franchise, is fond of Italian high fashion. In the past, he’s collaborated with Italian luxury brand Gucci and even created a fun short manga story titled Rohan Kishibe Goes to Gucci, in which the characters showcased a beautiful line of actual Gucci apparel and fashion items.
So, when it was announced that Araki was collaborating with another high-end Italian fashion brand, Bulgari, it wasn’t exactly a surprise, but we were nonetheless delighted with the prospect of seeing unique designer items featuring the world of JoJo. What’s more, when we heard that the collaborative items designed by Araki would be displayed in a special pop-up space in the Isetan Shinjuku Department Store, we knew we had to go take a look!
Yasuho had been attacked by the stone people before Jojolion happened apparently. What for? I had thought for a second that she was part stone because her dad looked like that, but turns out it was just a fake copy.
