Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Don't Say Wrry Edition

Diamond is Unbreakable is a great mystery/thriller series.

To compare it to stardust or battle tendencies is unfair. Battle tendencies isn’t a shonen really. It is joseph getting into shit and lucking his way into winning. He is the same kind of luck concept like dio had and like kira had.

Stardust is your shonen with a travel and fights.

Diamond is Unbreakable actually had awesome writing to make up for the lack of actual fighting.

Kira/Josuke felt more like a game of cat and mouse.

Holy shit, battle tendency is so good. None of the characters were bland, and it’s not dragged out too long like stardust crusaders was.

My only problem with it was how positively the Nazis were portrayed in the anime. I mean wtf man? The author wants us to feel sad for Mark? Fuck that.

After watching part 3 follow by part 1, I am still wondering how Dio is supposed to be charismatic and charming. The author constantly repeats it, but never demonstrates it. Dio acts like a obsessive pretentious scheming bitch. He’s like a nerfed Griffith. He doesn’t have class or command respect like Griffith does.

Araki is japanese in anime the nazis are always portrayed as both noble and honorable

I mean look at full metal alchemist

Or Gundam 0083 - Stardust Memory.

Relax. Pretty sure it is supposed to be charming to hust other people in his world. The Joestars all view him as vile and disgusting and that is the perspective we see him with.

Well Part 4 was very lovely. Can never be mad at seeing Kira get out unto shambles

there aren’t any Nazi’s in FMA.

They are the nazis exterminating people and doing experiments with government help

Nazis

I feel that the only time Dio was portrayed as a charming guy was in Part 6, but his character was vastly different from Part 1 and part 3.

Dio was always a monster. He just became politer about it after a while.

In the original 2003 anime series, their world was an alternate world of ours, with the country it took place in being a alternate form of Germany. Their main leader is call the Fuehrer as well in all versions. While they aren’t Nazi’s they heavily reference that hard military lead government style Nazis are known for.

But I have no problem with Nazi’s in Battle Tendency, Japan was technically on their side during the war and really in Jojo, it isn’t so much that they are shown as a goody goody organization, it just shows that some of the soldiers there are not amoral monsters… well let me walk that back, they are continuously amoral monsters without any sort of honor. Technically I guess that was the big theme of that arc, honor among opponents/enemies/rivals and the like being able to see things from their point of view.

The original anime isn’t really representative of FMA since stuff like that was anime original aspect and a departure from the creator’s own story

I don’t think Dio’s appeal to gain all those stand followers was so much “charisma” or “respect” at work but, rather sheer intimidation. He was an ego-maniac w/Vampire powers and one of the strongest stands. Most who met Dio could sense how dangerous he was. Take away all that and he’s just a devious psychopath.

Pretty sure only Vanilla Ice and the old lady really admired him. The rest were kept in line out of fear.

Griffith however, had real charisma and leadership ability.

Eh if both sides of the war had a ceasefire and played football on the no-mans land on Christmas day irl, I don’t see why they can’t co-operate to save the world from pillar men in a manga.

edit: Disregard all that shit it was WW1.

Holy crap! I just realized a HUGE plothole in Part 4 that was never resolved.

Remember the episode where Rohan was introduced and we see the flashback explaining why Josuke gets upset when people insult his hair? As the mom’s car is driving off, young Josuke see’s a figure in the rear-view mirror that is a 1-to-1 match with teen Josuke.

I remember reading something about Shining Diamond’s healing power being a form of time manipulation. He’s not “healing” them exactly, just turning back the clock on a person’s injuries. I thought maybe we’d see Josuke inadvertently going back in time with his Stand power, and ending up helping his younger/past self.

Yet we never saw this take place. Was this ever explained?

NOT a plot hole, just back story. Araki intentionally left out the identity of the student with the pompadour who helped tomoko drive across the snow since he’s weird like that. It’s the main inspiration for josuke taking up the hairstyle smh

Crazy Diamond’s power is restoration and not a form of time manipulation. Don’t mix things up for the sake of your convenience.

Yeah it’s left ambiguous on purpose.

First off, thanks for conducting yourself like a douchebag. At least i can count on you to be consistent lol.

Secondly, early on i had read somewhere that shining diamond’s power was a form of time manipulation. Which made sense to me, seeing as how bloodline JoJo stand’s like Dio’s World and Jotaro’s Star Platinum also had time manipulation ability.

Yeah and I can count on you being excerebrose. You wanna read into it like that so you can process the info, knock yourself out. It’s done and over, no more theorizing required.

Stop being g a Jojo fag and move along.
