Jojo's Bizarre Adventure - Don't Say Wrry Edition

Unlikely. This thread was 97% more active in the Parts prior. Afterwards, it was a massive decline almost instantaneously once stardust ended.

If things really are as you say, then those fans would have stuck around for Diamond is unbreakable as well. Clearly that is not the case, and interest, at least as far as SRK is concerned, all but died after Stardust ended.

Can’t say i blame them for not caring. I remember my expectations for Part 4 were really low at first.

Waiting for Part4 anime to finish entirely before I start watching it. Really excited to see in one long sitting…been needing a JoJo fix since I got caught up with part 8 last month.

Hopefully not too big a wait Part 5 anime, probably my least favorite part in the series and I don’t like anything in it besides King Crimson lol.

The latest translated chapter of part 8 just came out a couple days ago.

*That can be explained in several ways.

Parts 1-3 is by far the most popular parts of JoJo’s bizarre adventure here in the West. Always have been. Initially when the anime series was announced people thought it would just be Phantom Blood being animated with a possibility of Battle Tendency if we were lucky.

We got lucky and the anime went past part 2: Battle Tendency to the most people part of Jojo’s bizarre adventure in the west. Additionally, by looking at the demographic bias inherent to denizens of SRK it would make logical sense for the thread to be at it’s apex at part 3: Stardust Crusaders since I’d hazard to say that a good amount of people here played the JoJo’s fighting game either in the arcades, on Ps1/Dreamcast or in GGPO/Supercard. That fact alone would make the fighting game players who had no prior or subsequent exposure to JoJo’s curious to give the animated series a watch post on here about the series.

Also, there’s always the fact there almost always seem to be a dropoff in people who continue with the series after part 3. Both here in the west and in the east.

On top of that, if you followed the thread for as long as you imply that you have been, then you’d know that there was a divide in posters who wanted more Hamon/Ripple and those who liked Stands. After myself and others told them “There will be no more Ripple. But if you like Hamon/Ripple come back for Steel Ball Run”, there was a noticeable dropoff in members who posted here.

Then there’s older Jojo fans like myself don’t prioritize keeping up with the current season of Jojo since we know whats going to happen and we’re waiting for our favorite parts to be animated. *

For part 1 and 2, the anime adaptions are pretty amazing and now there’s uncensored versions so I’d say go for it. Part 7 is considered by many to be one of the best, if not the best part so it’s definitely worth checking out.

^^ Not sure if you were trying to argue against my points, or agree with me with this one. I still maintain there has been a huge interest drop-off, and you pretty much mentioned all the reasons i’m thinking of.

Shame. Diamond is Unbreakable has been a LOT better than the likes of Dragonball Super, which has seen 110%.00 more attention from SRKers. Even during the Trunks/Goku Black Saga, Diamond is Unbreakable was still better and more compelling.

Much more consistent in the high-quality of each episode as well. While Dragonball Super has been hit & miss, depending on how lazy Toei’s animators were feeling at the time. Even Diamond is unbreakable’s crappy latest intro song, still impressed me with it’s quality and attention to detail.

Edit: Admittedly the new intro has grown on me but, i remember really hating it at first.

Yea but Dragon Ball Super is new. I waited for Daimond to finish to marathon because I’ve already read it so the animation part is the only new thing to see so I want to see a lot or not in a row. I don’t care about the story so much because I’ve already read it, I know what happens, there’s no suspense or anything for me. Only it in motion.

That’s a thought I wonder if Anasui will be drawn as a man straight of the bat if/when Stone Ocean gets animated?

Probably will be drawn a man if I had to bet money. Maybe a masculine woman or a feminine man at the beginning

on this…the last Duwang Friday. I would like to say goodbye to Morioh and its people. They will be missed.

Spoiler

ready for Vento Aureo tho my favorite part with the best stands and best fights

2 more animes and we get Steel Ball Run :relaxed:

So the version of Great Days in todays ep was sung by every singer that has done a JoJo’s OP.

Warms my fabulous cold heart.

This should become a tradition from now on.

nevermind, rewatched episode 17 to see what was going on.

They werent on the proper street, after the dog tore his hand off and he fell over, his head faced down the street with the evil mojo shit going on.

Good finale, wasnt really that impressed with this season in general though. Koichi and Okuyasu were great stand out characters, Josuke came across as a noisy Jotaro. I dunno if the episodic nature of this season threw me off a bit due to getting epic adventures previously but I didnt really dig it in general, like most of the time a few weeks would go by and I would catch up, previous JoJos were watched the second they went on air.

I love this arch was never about “ora ora ora ora”

Josuke and Jotaro are way more powerful than everybody else, but josuke is too hot headed

This was a psychological war, the writing, animation, and acting were so good

Loved this season.

So part 5 will be taking place in 2003. And part 6 will be modern times

Cool

part 5 is 2001

P5 follows a similar structure to P3. Just with more insane stands.

Just saw the latest episode… AWESOME!!

And thus concludes one of the best JoJo stories, even if almost nobody on SRK gave a damn lol. It was still badass.

Out of all the episodes, only about 4-5 were truly underwhelming and or boring. The rest of the 39 episodes were fantastic. Excellent animation, good VAs, goodfights, music, good characters, cool stands, etc. And to think my expectations were really low at first and i only watched the first episode because i was bored. I’m glad to be proven wrong.

All in all, i’d put Diamond is Unbreakable above Stardust Crusaders and 2nd best, next to Battle Tendency. I hope the other parts get animated now if the quality remains this good!
