it’s the same stand. killer queen “evolved” and gained time manipulation powers similar to gold experience requiem, not reality-altering abilities per se.
the closest to reality warping powers would be pucci’s stand, made in heaven.
The color scheme they used for Killer queens eyes really bothers me in the anime. The white sclera and red/pinkish pupils from the manga gave the stand a more curious look all the time which I preferred over the overtly menacing tone they went for in the anime.
We know how Bites the Dust works. What’s the problem is saying that it increases Kira’s luck or that “fate” only happens during Bites the Dust. That’s just bullshit. Kira is lucky as Araki sees fit. That’s it. His luck stemmed before Bites the Dust was even in the picture anyway i.e him keeping track of his nail length, etc.
Also, for those of you expecting Part 5 to be great, take a back seat. Part 5 has a dip in quality. Still has enjoyable parts but the villain is underwhelming and the main character is incredibly static.
I really enjoyed part 5. Giorno and diavolo and might be mediocre but it has my favorite stand/user in the entirety of the series who is Bruno/sticky fingers. Part 5 is a better part 3.
It’s just maintaining the fate of the people it blows up as them being blown up the next loop round, not the fate of everything that ever happens in the whole fucking world.
What Kira has done with Bites the dust clearly alters reality, and events.
At one point things were truly “locked in” and Rohan was doomed to explode no matter what, whether he ever met Hayato or not. Rohan could have never left the house that day, and would have still exploded despite having Zero contact with Hayato or Killer Queen.
An inescapable outcome, that’s what Fate is. Yet with the literal flip of a switch, undoing Bites the dust changes that Fate instantaneously in real-time.
That IS reality altering. Just in a limited form, as it only effects a few key events.
when i was first reading the manga what i expected to happen was for josuke to use the arrow on himself like kira did and then undo bites the dust by restoring the timeline to it’s original state.
Also, how is Kira controlling the direct motion of the air bubbles in the house? Once again, Araki, he doesn’t control Stray Cat. I don’t care if he’s speaking to Atom Heart Father about Josuke’s position. How is the air bubble being steered outside of Stray Cat’s knowledge?
Yeah that shit was all kinds of terrible. Still makes more sense than the motivations for the bad guys to become good guys like at the drop of a hat. That was one of the major reason I never liked this arc, not to mention the random nerfing of Jotaru. It really was a whole kitchen sink approach but these dudes swear up and down it is the best.
edit: there is a reason why they started with the 3rd arc when they made all the media surrounding the manga. That’s not even including the fact that the old ovas had awesome ass Satoshi Kon as the actual writer for the ova adaption.
First decent question, it’s not explained well at all. It looks as though it was going to be explained but then Araki got side tracked and forgot, but anyway page 91, volume 46 there are 2 panels, one shows an air bubble perforate a tiny bit, which we can assume is a small detonation, and then change course. It would also explain why it speeds up.
being turned into bombs from killer queens’ ability, kira exerts some influence on how the air bubbles travel after stray cat launches it since he also plans on detonating it afterward.
if you were paying attention, hayato was unaware of killer queen’s 3rd ability until after rohan dies and the day was looped for a first time afterward.
bites the dust only activated the time loop AFTER rohan blew up, hence it had to WAIT for a specific set of event(s) to occur i.e. someone dying because they tried to learn kira’s identity.
the ability DOES NOT force the events to occur or steer “fate” (which is a fucking dumb umbrella term to address predestination in this series since a shitload of characters can and will manipulate time to an extent) in favor of kira. it’s like a “yes or no” flowchart that loops back to the start once specific conditions are met. another way to look at it is like a countdown from 10 to 0 but bites the dust stops it at “5” and reverts it back to 10 (in essence, TIME is trapped in a loop and not reality) but if the audience were to go forward to “0” it will show kira is still ultimately defeated regardless of who died in-between that countdown. for all we know, rohan was NEVER meant to die in “reality” but only in that trapped time that killer queen was able to manipulate.
hayato was scared and pressured to figure out how bites the dust worked on the first loop and in his panicked rush, he fucks up; killing koichi and jotaro in the process.
after that, he influenced “fate” (gosh, fucking hate why i have to use this term) by doing events out of sequence or blatantly diverting from how he did things i.e. sneaking past kira on the 2nd loop and bringing stray cat along come to mind.
That’s preposterous since that isn’t in the nature of Killer Queen’s ability. It’s Stray Cat’s. Kira is simply igniting the air bubble. Him controlling it is bullshit.
