Wait, what? You just said Jotaro beat Dio but couldn’t do shit on Kira’s stand then you backpedal when I brought up Vanilla Ice? Like for real, zombies? Where’d that come from?
As far as I know Dio could create vampires but zombies? :o
I think this ass-hat is tripping. Sees joining date
OH MY GOOOOD!!!
DIO can create both vampires and zombies reread/watch Phantom Blood. Vampires are created through DIO’s blood and zombies are made when he drains and kills a person.
Yeah I always thought they were referred to as vampires but apparently not, I guess it’s just something that’s been overlooked. Though you could make the argument that because they had been dead for so long when he raised Tarkus and Bruford they were as zombies rather than vampires? I dunno, Araki shit I guess.
Bruford was kind of a vampire, he was sucking jojos blood through his hair, but it didnt make any sense. Since Dio never changed him into a vampire since he was already dead.
Unless Dio’s vampirism somehow granted him legit MAGIC or other sorcery, which it didn’t, it should have been impossible. Even if Dio can sorta resurrect recently dead corpses with his blood like Vanilla Ice, those two guys were dead for hundreds of years and their bodies would have long since decomposed beyond such things.
Basically, Araki just shamelessly pulled that one out of his ass. No excuses.
Volume 5 chapter 40: Dio “Now, JoJo… So that you can be one of them (zombies) I need to insert my extract into you.” So he can turn the living into zombies without killing them as well so that gives 3 ways DIO can turn people into zombies.
Proto Flesh Buds
The amount of blood given to a corpse, that’s if we take zombies as low level vampires which would fit considering zombies die to the ripple
When DIO drinks from a person/corpse with his fingers he could inject them with something else to raise them as zombies, which would also fit.
It could also very well be that the term zombie just leaves the naming convention for part 3 and instead the term just becomes the all encompassing “vampire”.
hold up. you mentioned DIO and Jotaro in the same sentence so it’s gotta be stardust that we were talking about and NOT phantom blood, right?
technically, both are undead creatures [zombies and vampires] but be consistent at least. you keep going off on tangents midway through the discussion.
well imho, since not all translations are perfect, they could have meant it as “the undead” as an umbrella term.
since the mask and its inherent powers are vampiric in nature, araki just went with it [vampire] cuz he’s crazy like that lolol
You dont really make any sense. You were talking about part 3 stardust, and I mentioned Dio could make zombies or vampires, which he can, but never did for some reason in part 3. And clearly he did in part 1. So I dont know what the big deal is.
I seriously love this show and loved all arcs. But this one is kinda boring, kinda dropped it at ep 7 or something as the story turned out slow and they’re just chilling around town. Unlike previous arcs there is no sense of urgency or well… no major story.
There hasn’t been much of a continuous arc, just lots of “individual” episodes. However, what’s there has been really good! Even then, there has been a sort of “slow-burn” build-up, with the characters and their development.
Part 4 has really impressed me. I thought the creativity well was at it’s peak with Stardust and it would be downhill from here. I didn’t think i’d care about the characters much. I was very wrong. Diamond is unbreakable has been pretty high-tier!!
I get where you’re coming from. Araki tried to flesh out a lot of the major characters, given it’s an even bigger set as opposed to phantom blood and battle tendency which had a handful of major characters working with/against the main Jojo.
Stardust crusaders has a shitload of characters and not a lot of development aside from polnareff, Dio and Joseph joestar with the latter 2 as returning characters that were already established.
Diamond does have a major story but it’s too short in comparison to previous arcs. Character development was the main focus initially before switching over to the “mystery killer” plot thread.
As I said, it’s very brief and kinda rushed since araki had dedicated too many issues of the manga in establishing the major players and didn’t see the need to extend the arc.
Incidentally, part of diamond bleeds into vento, specifically the start of arc 5 is the actual “ending” of diamond.
Almost every character is important in part 4, even the people who they fought like Rohan, Toshikazu, Keicho, and even Shigekiyo had a big part helping find the killer.
The only characters that matter in part 3 are Dio, and the Main characters, everyone else they fight gets killed or never hear from them again, or add anything to the story, besides other random stand battle.
Hell even the villains in part 3 had no backstory, they just showed up and fought. J.geil was the only other villain besides Dio that even had a story, since he killed polnareff’s sister.
^^ So am i the only one that thinks it’s sad that, the most discussion this thread has seen since part 4 started airing, is a silly argument over what constitutes a zombie or vampire??
Otherwise, despite part 4 being amazing, this thread has been dead. WTF.
Edit: Oh, and do you guys think it’s possible Joske could have used Shining Diamond’s power’s on that last remaining Harvest? Clearly shigechi’s final reminents of consciousness before death were in the last harvest.
You think if joske acted quick enough, he could have saved him and undid the damage?
Looks like that’s my cue to exit the thread. For some reason, i can’t help but sense that some dumbass in here is about to come along and spoil everything.
So i’ll just leave and come back when the show is over. Something tells me…i won’t be missing much here, discussion wise. ROTFL.
Backs away from thread slowly…until suddenly turning around and running out the door
