The 1.04 article just says that they are examining characters and pointing out what they generally want to fix with these chars. Examples being: making Joseph easier to level up skills, tweaking Kakyoin to be a ranged fighter over a keepaway character, etc.

Seems like they also fixed the throw tech bug where you could tech at any time if you’re caught during a move, now they can be used as an actual punish.

So, now that you’re able to cancel sweeps, teleports suddenly become a hell of a lot more viable. Onkyasu can now establish a mixup game, not to mention has a ton more air-tight super setups. As for his 623, I don’t have any issues landing it in a juggle. So don’t know whats going on there for some people, but it works fine. He seems a lot more solid now, which is awesome.

So I used the Google translator on the 1.03 changes which by the way the translation isn’t that great, but I kinda get the idea what is changed. I did check the 1.04 patch and it says it’ll be coming out in December.

random observation: taunt lines stay in the taunt pose for longer; that is, the period where the camera zooms back out to the battle happens later on in the taunt when it’s a long line.

because of this, the “cancel” timing of those taunts has changed. you’ll generally be hearing most of the line’s dialogue now. I’m pretty alright with this considering how much higher damage is and how much higher their damage potential is with GHAs being useful.

Really? I tried quite a few times but the combo would stop at the swipe and then start again when The Hand came down.

Really happy for the patch. Never relied on Dio’s burst so that’s not a problem. With TK moves being back. His stand on jump move is much better. Now gains a guaranteed time stop from a sweep which is a great round ender.

Giorno can no longer infinite with GER. Though its still ridiculous. His sweep was kinda safe some what so it being cancelable is interesting. Once again TK helps him as well as normals being cancelable to a stand for 1 bar.

This patch is good.

Is it just me or is throwing different?

Josuke’s GHA got tweaked a little. Like Jotaro in the last patch, it is now impossible to combo into it off a Rushed 623A. Opponent just drops through it every time. But this really isn’t that big of a deal, it means you just change your combo and have it involve a Rushed barrier and end with 5ABC GHA. Does more damage too. I was able to get a 3-bar 1099 combo with Josuke, keep in mind this is with the healing damage included, so dunno how much REAL damage it does, but it seems to be about 3/4ths.

Edit: apparently they plan to tweak taunt combos to some degree. One of the changes noted for the future patch is if you use a taunt more than twice in a combo, the downed opponent is granted invincibility for several frames, allowing them to get out and prevent infinites. Seems like taunt combos are here to stay if they’re making changes like that.

Giorno’s HHA to GHA is almost instant now.

Yeah, you were always able to 236A > [5A > sidestep] repeatedly before the patch. Not sure about it being faster though, didn’t use it much.

so Pucci is even more nuts in Made in Heaven. but his keywords seem to come out slower consecutively. although let’s be honest, when would you ever say more than one or 2?

They…nerfed Pucci’s 14 words? Did that really need a nerf?

maybe I’m remember the timing incorrectly, but they seem slower when you just hold the button down. it’s still safe to do 1 word after 214A though so it’s prolly not a big deal.

You’re imagining it, Pucci’s not in the patch notes at all.

I feel bad for anyone that likes Kosaku Kira. None of his knockdown bubble unblockables work off a cancelled sweep. The bubble either blows up Kosaku as well, or just never detonates.

there are a lot of changes outside of the patch notes. Pucci is definitely a lot faster in MiH now.

Kawajiri users should be happy actually, they can combo off of M bomb detonation without having to puttsun cancel. just dash in and juggle. whether it’s a higher trajectory or better recovery time (or a combination of both), Yoshikage Kira can’t do that. I’m not sure what they gave him (if anything). :\

Being able to special cancel the L coin bomb off a sweep as Yoshi should help a bit, right? I’m not really a Shakira player but it has to mean something.
