Great match, I see the Lucifer dude a lot when I fight Campaign bots but have yet to play him for real. This vid makes me want to check out Jo2uke more.

Got some good matches in last night with minimal lag, which was refreshing. Things I’ve learnt: my Akira is utter ass against actual people, lol. I guess grinding in Campaign mode filled my head with delusions of grandeur, I can’t open people up worth shit online, and my hit confirms turn to utter shite as well. Still love the character but maybe I’ll stick to Kars until I level Ak up more lol…

Okyuasu combos

The online doesn’t feel that smooth to me, tbh. Felt like I needed to mash AAAA instead of LMH strings and stand cancel combos felt difficult.

I really like using Polarnareff but don’t know how max his damage output out or how to combo out of his Level 1 super (if that’s even possible). I did find out you can do his stand rdp special into level 3.

I think it’s pretty poopy honestly and I wish he at least took the time to understand the game a bit before making videos. Though he prolly just did this game because it’s new and sorta popular, so it would get him views.

Wel our fights last night were probably the best I’ve had so far. The randoms I played online were quite literally unplayable. It definitely could’ve been better though, a lot of stuff I didn’t want to do would happen like random supers and really shitty hit confirms.

Also I think your Pol was good considering the lag. Maybe when they patch the online stability in October our future matches will run more smoothly.

Just to clarify, people have pointed out that mistake in the early translations of the 1.03 patch notes about the online. The stability isn’t what’s getting patched in October, it’s the accuracy of the connection bars that they’re working on. So it seems for the time being at least that the netcode itself isn’t going to be improved, don’t be surprised if it doesn’t feel any different come October.

Both of those do between 370 and 400 damage, depending on it starting from a jump-in or omitting a 2L here or there. The idea is to do the HHA early in the combo and not supercancel into it from 236H as that heavily scales the follow-ups post HHA. Supercancelling into HHA from 236H seems to knock off about 60-70 off the total damage, so it’s a big deal.

The one ending in 236H builds approx 55% meter. The second one builds less, but the hard knockdown lets him use 214L meaty. This gives frame advantage on block, safe chip and can combo afterwards on hit with:

66 > 2L5MH xx whatever

Jo2uke two-bar Restand

STAND OFF (9H) > 2LL5MH xx HHA > 9H > 5LMH xx 623H PC STAND ON 5LH (2 hits) xx 623H

A two-bar Restand. Unfortunately, it doesn’t reset the crumple allowance, so no HHA loops. It does about 460-470, with the option of supercancelling into HHA for another unscaled 100 on top, plus hard knockdown.

Jo2uke is very linear. Doesn’t have a great mix-up; he doesn’t have anything mid other than his jump-ins. He has really high and economical damage output, builds a ton of meter with STAND ON 623any and STAND OFF 236any, and has safe, solid oki where he can always maintain frame advantage. His AA is pretty lacking, but he does have some defence by setting up his bubbles (22H). His 2M has excellent range, hits twice and is cancellable on the first hit. His jump-ins are alright. STAND ON 9H is probably his best; hits twice, crosses up and has some floaty carry once it’s active much like Josuke’s STAND ON 9H.

He’s quite good. I’d draw parallels with SF4 Cody if I had to for him.

Am I the only one who gets a ton of the good NPCs like Pocoloco, sunglasses man and RPS kid? At this rate I’ll finish unlocking everything in campaigns 1 and 2 by the end of the week.

You know what you gonna get when you go in there, so why do you still go in there and then complain?

Edit: Okuyasu has damage! You just need to burn the meter on PC instead of trying to hit with his crappy supers. (Shown later in this vid)

I’ve been using Jo2uke a lot lately, and honestly, I don’t really feel much of a need to use anything other than his stand off moveset. His bubble setups alone are great, both from mid range to control you opponent’s advances and on wakeup, plus his crumple/hard knockdown dash punch special for combo ending/extending. The only mid-range move in his stand on arsenal I found somewhat worth using would be his jump H, but they’ve nerfed the hitbox on it since the 1.02 patch so the second hit doesn’t hit quite as reliably as before unless you do it really deep. His jump M in stand off I found to be decent replacement, has long reach and can cross up fairly reliable (much easier than other characters who had their crossup jump M’s nerfed like Jotaro’s).

His stand on side kick special (214+any) feels useless, even though it’s stand rushable you’ll get nothing off it (pre 1.02 you could juggle/infinite in the corner at the right angle, but you can’t juggle off of wall bounces any more so that’s gone). Stand on 623+any rush punch is a good meter building combo ender, though his stand off 236+H already works pretty well for that, just that it’s not a hard knocdown. Stand on 236+any rush punch can be useful for combo extensions/pressure if you stand rush it, but unless I’m already in stand on and pressuring my opponent, I’d rather stick with bubble setups.

The scan also confirms Vanilla Ice and Annasui down in that bottom right corner explosion bubble, so yeah.

Makes good use of taunt combos. Jotaro player was quite interesting as well, stand-rushing his Breath special from afar, patient play and nice space control+movement.
