jumping is too strong in this game

you can hold up on wakeup and at worst you’ll just eat an air reset because jumping makes you airborne on the first frame

put the training dummy on auto-jump and you’ll see what i mean. it’s pretty retarded and i wish CC2 was more competent about fighting game design

That’s only on hard knockdown, its not bad or good game design it’s just different. I believe it works like that too in KOF2002UM.

I’m mainly using Jolyne but I also like using the ripple characters as well.

i’m really trying to make kakyoin viable, but im running into issues. I like all of his long range tools, but with side stepping and dashing i cant keep people out. Anyone have any luck using him? Or know of any match vids or streams with him?

Pretty good tutorial on Yoshikage for setups. Too bad his neutral problems are still there, but at least you can get some stuff started.

this game has its issues, but people seem to give it a ton of flack for about the same thing every other one has, only when Capcom screws up its “oh they’ll just patch it, release super/ultimate XXXX”

ArcSys does it. Capcom does. SNK…is a bit better about. VF has about 3-4 editions. This game surely will, it’s the second highest opening sales for a fighting game just after brawl.

Bought the physical copy with the yoshikage kira code but where fuck do I download him? I downloaded some free dlc (about 170mb) which has placed two extra but blank slots in the character select screen.

I really don’t see how jump is ‘too strong’ in a game where any hit vs. airborne enemy leads to full juggles. That’s not even mentioning Alioune’s discovery that soft knockdown = standing hit state for people trying to jump.

I guess what he’s trying to say is that no AA/shitty AA situation for over half the cast means jump as a whole is just too strong. Which…I don’t know. I think character tech needs to be worked on a bit before we start making sweeping changes. btw, did you ever find a use for Y. Kira counter?

You have the code from the booklet right? Just redeem it like a psn code, but on your japanese account. The symbols on your psn hud are in the same location for the english one too.

It’s disappointing that it’s single elimination, but it’s Really Really disappointing that infinites were allowed, even more since they likely will be gone next tuesday. That said, [details=Spoiler]it was really satisfying seeing a infinite-using Jolyne get exposed as someone that literately just learned the infinite and not the engine. There’s no doubt in my mind that without the infinite, it would have been Kei v. Osomatsu in final 2.[/details]

Cracked and grabbed a copy. This works better with my homemade hitbox than 3S at least!

Really hope the patching makes this a viable game, it’d be so great to see this on the tournament circuit if only because of all the in-jokes it would generate.

i’m not trying to single out jojo asb at all, i’m just saying that there are potential problems that might need addressing. being that this is probably CC2’s first real attempt at making a traditional fighter i think it’s a fair assessment

well if you can figure anything out with giorno please lmk. i am struggling on converting airborne hits into any kind of meaningful damage. there doesn’t seem to be enough consequence for holding up against him

i am fond of the piranha mixup since it will crumple enemies trying to jump, but i don’t know if it’s enough
