My understanding was through use of an equation, though it’s not exactly right in that sense. a+b=c. King Crimson can see branching paths from a situation and interfere so that a=c. He knows what happened in between, but one one else does. Stuff happens, but no one has recollection of the in between of the start and finish.
I don’t fucking know, he just looks like what he does. He rapes your present.
The way i have always saw it (could be wrong but i’ve been able to follow the story based on this interpretation, so it’s good enough for me. It’s like taking multiple frames of a video (which is time). King crimson cuts the frames between the activation of the ability and the end point out, removing them from reality . King Crimson’s is the only one to know how they end up at the end due to his ability to see ten seconds into the future, thus he is able to capitalize. [details=Spoiler] This would explain how the bullet didn’t hit him,the point in time were the bullet hit him is removed from existence. The blood test worked because the blood should have fell, but the transition was removed from existence, and polnareff could recognize that. [/details]
Again this could be wrong, but it has allowed me to read the story without problem.
Thanks for being an ass and not actually answering the problem I listed, and just assuming I didn’t understand time.
So why does the bullet not hit Diavolo, but the blood hit Polnareff? The point at which both happened was removed, and any bullets that would’ve got stopped by Diavolo’s body would’ve stayed in there. No wounds, of course, but he’d be stuck with a bunch of bullets inside him.
The power itself isn’t that hard to understand. We have points A and B, A---------B, such that A and B are ten seconds apart. King Crimson activates, and A and B become the same point, the same as A but with the positions of B. The problem is Araki couldn’t decide what implications he actually wanted this to have.
For the first point you answered it yourself earlier
[details=Spoiler] The bullet passed through him when he was originally hit, so cutting the part were he was hit out of the equation saved him. If the bullet had got stuck, he would have been screwed (little things like this is why the world imo is so much better) . As for the blood it doesn’t really contradict it in my eyes,so this explanation could help or be restating what you already know since i’m not sure were the contradiction is. Basically normally the blood would rip in small droplets but end up in a larger puddle on his leg. By cutting out the frames of time in which the blood dripped it would seem to polnareff like one little drop of blood suddenly turned into a glob of it, alerting him to the time skip. Still the same power in effect as with the bullet.
As for the Bruno thing it could be one of two things 1. Araki hadn’t fully decided how it worked until after the fight,same thing happened to diver down and anassui’s gender or 2. it is something related to the rolling stone thing[/spoiler}
[details=Spoiler]The contradiction is that if position is the only thing that matters and things just pass through other things, and this is Diavolo didn’t get shot, the blood should’ve ended up on the floor. Is that seriously how it goes, though? Diavolo just activates King Crimson and thinks ‘boy I sure hope none of these bullets stop in me’? What a shit stand. Motherfucker is lucky Hol Horse wasn’t around, he’s the king of ‘failing to penetrate someone’s body with bullets’.
Yeah, Araki does that a lot, but even then its generally explainable. Like with Dio stopping time to push Polnareff down a step for no good reason. Or stopping time and then crawling through Hol Horse’s legs. The Bruno thing’s just weird, I don’t know where he was going with it.[/details]
*King Crimson was fairly easy to understand for me by the time wheelchair fight happens. *
*[details=Spoiler] King Crimson has 2 main abilities. Ability “A” is being able to see into the future for upto 10 seconds. Ability “B” is being able to delete 10 seconds of time from existence that’s within his stand range. For example if someone fires a bullet and he activates his stand he can see the trajectory of the bullet thanks to “A” which he can use to move out of the way, then he can use “B” to delete what took place during those 10 seconds. However where the bullet ends up after the 10 second deletion and how many bullets left in the gun will be the same because it’s outside of his stands jurisdiction. If you’ve read Diamond is Unbreakable it’s similar to Okyasu’s stand but with time instead of space… Plus being able to see into the future.
Edit: As for why Polnaref was able to dodge was because he had cut himself. By noticing how many blood splots was on the floor he was able to determine when time had been deleted. If time passed by normally it wouldn’t have been a sudden increase in blood spots. But because there was a increase in number of splots he was able to know when King Crimsons ability was used and he could predict how Diavalo would attack.[/details]*
[details=Spoiler] Like DarkGeneral* said For example if someone fires a bullet and he activates his stand he can see the trajectory of the bullet thanks to “A” which he can use to move out of the way, then he can use “B” to delete what took place during those 10 seconds. However where the bullet ends up after the 10 second deletion and how many bullets left in the gun will be the same because it’s outside of his stands jurisdiction. *
During the 10 seconds the bullet went through him and passed out the other side. He cut those 10 seconds so they didn’t happen, meaning he was never shot, but the bullet ended up at the same point it would have at the end of the ten seconds. Since the blood would end up on his leg at the end of the 10 seconds normally, it would still end up there, the dripping would just be removed. As for diavolo he would know already when he cut time that it would go through him due to seeing the future, but ya he would probably prefer to avoid being shot, thus why he went out of his way to block the bullets most of the time.
As for dio, his stand has a ten meter range, he probably used it to place polnareff down the stairs, it required no effort, and he is kind of a showoff[/details]
[details=Spoiler]I would prefer to think of it as an inconsistency over ‘the main villain, even with his stand power, only survived due to luck.’, to be honest.
Also, this probably doesn’t need to be mentioned, but if Giorno managed to remember the full list of his stands power, the Diavolo fight would’ve been so much easier.
There was a series of .gifs made on pixiv showing the weird things Dio did with his stand before it was revealed what it actually was, they’re pretty funny. My personal favourite is the Hol Horse one, because Dio crawling through his legs is so hilarious, but most people prefer the Polnareff one I think. They’re all reasonable enough considering he’s a huge show-off, sure, but the Hol Horse one in particular does seem like Araki hadn’t quite decided what Dio should do, as if he were in the middle of the ‘Dio has every stand’ and ‘Dio can stop time’ phases.[/details]
Also, Hol Horse (fucking told you guys)/Abdul confirmed, Jotaro can move for 2 seconds of stopped time, and ROAD ROLLA DA confirmed. Most hype single page ever, or what?
Quoting myself on dustloop:
I’m no good at making out kanji radicals unless they’re 4096x4096 scans (I blame my eyes naturally) but from what I gather it says it’ll be shown at a booth at Jump Festa.
Since my last two posts have just quoted myself from dustloop, I’ll add something else here to distinct-ify me a bit, and say that I hope the game has unlockable announcers like P4A. D’Arby announcer as a throwback to Heritage, Speedwagon commentary of the entire fight, Rohan being an asshole…the possibilities are limitless.
Surprised it took so long for Dio to get announced! Special announcers would be pretty cool actually, I’d love to hear SpeedWagon going nuts during fights. Erina would be pretty cute as an announcer too.
I got a feeling, so complicated. I love that we finally see Dio, but the inclusion of Abdul and Hol Horse makes me wonder how many reps we’ll see from each part. I’d much rather like to see more reps from other parts besides Stardust Crusader. I’m happy to see Hol and Dio… But Abdul? Not so much.
