The wording is kind of ambiguous, if by includes all content and updates they mean they’re throwing in DLC characters as well for $50, I’m all over that.
If you already know the Jojo story (and/or read Japanese), just buy it used off amazon… it’s like 950yen these days. Even with postage and handling you’d make a big saving.

That said, this is a pretty niche release and I imagine the target audience is Jojo fans (hyper niche, all 3.2 of us) and weeaboos. Which means “cash in now, honey”!
Somehow I doubt Bamco is going to be benevolent enough NOT to make us buy the DLC characters again, lol. But who knows, maybe I’ll be surprised.
The translation’s kinda silly even by JoJo standards (“Starve nobly!”), but I kinda can’t get mad about it. Some of those lines might be bad enough to be memorable/funny in a dumb way. That font is HIDEOUS, though. I REALLY hope they’re not married to it at this point.

hopefully the framerate thing is mostly just more stable stuff on stages. I’m really okay with 30 fps in general since 1.04’s speed is faster. part 7 stage definitely has the most problems it seems like. hoping that once this comes out, I can convince my local scene to pick it up (along with gundam EXVSFB). 2014 full-on poverty.
Really? They’re gonna go that exclusive? I regularly play people from all over the world on import copies of KOFXIII and Mahvel and I live in Japan. I just assumed Jojo would be the same. Can you link to that Namco guy? I’m curious

Considering they have yet to say if the JP version would be getting these updates as well, things like the frame rate change would most likely cause a compatibility issue with the original release, plus any other engine changes they may have made in the localisation.

yeah i guess it’s mostly a compatibility issue (even just the removal of the BEPSI/PEPSI name from part 4 stage may give a compatibility issue), i hope they won’t keep the EU, US and JP versions different forever! it would be a mess if the game starts to be played competitively (i pray everyday for it) and jap players get to play an older version…

If things were more convenient (I just got promoted at my job, have not incurred enough vacation time to make it feasible, haha) I would seriously consider flying out to France just to enter this. Ars Magna posted this recently and it has a Polnareff doing level 1 > taunt combo > level 2. I remember prepatch someone saying Polnareff’s taunt combo is pretty tough, but goddamnit, I’ve spent like 45 minutes today trying to just get the j.C to hit at all and I’m having no luck. Anyone have any tips? This dude did it online so it can’t be THAT hard… right? ;-;
Interesting. Thanks a lot. I completely forgot about all the butchering that happens to Jojo once he leaves Japan - trademark issues etc. Anyway, it will be interesting to see how it all works out. Really hope they get it right on day one. That said, I won’t be giving my my Japanese copy any time soon!
The part at about 17:20, right? I’ve never tried it, but I’m wondering if you need to cancel the j.H landing recovery to be able to do the taunt faster (hold any direction when you land from doing an air normal and you recovery faster to perform other actions) . You tried using the same combination taunt pose and line as well, right?
God I wish the netcode didn’t blow. Was in the lab all day yesterday and I want someone to test stuff out against. -.-
