Can someone tell me how to do the full hits on the combo
6C,66 (dash), C,9, (midair) B, (midair) C, (midair) 9, (midair) B, (midair) C, (midair) D, (midair) 214
I can only seem to pull off the 6 hits (before the D) and everytime I try the Drive, the person im hitting seems to be too far into the air, is there something specific I gotta do that im missing?
Delay the 5C and then super jump cancel instead of a regular jump for the j.B.
Good games. Don’t feel too bad, I lost to him as well.
You figure out why your connection is weird yet?
Alright, thanks ill try it now!
some complicated router shit i dont understand
Dreadz, nice matches, not so much that last one cause of input lag… haha I noticed you opted to finish jb, jc, run, 5b, 5c, JC, jb, jc, jd with ice car instead of 6c, JC, jb, and so on. Did you give up damage in favor for oki set up?
I think this was asked by another person but I don’t remember him getting an answer. I see 2a and 5b used a lot for oki, what else do people use? 6a? 2b?
6a is too slow and punishable if the block on wakeup. 2b is good if they roll behind
ohhh yea i feel like oki offers more rewards in this matchup since tager got the health for damage. but who knows maybe i shouldve commited for more damage?
Ah ok. As for your question I’m not sure what you are referring to. If you’re talking about using ice car instead of 6C, JC, jb, and so on, then I saw it at 1:16 (corner), 5:54 (corner), 6:55 (non-corner), 8:13 (non-corner), 9:04 (non-corner), and 10:03 (corner). Looking back on it now it looks like i answered my own question since almost every time it was in the corner and you were able follow up with I think 6c. I also noticed at 1:26, 6:24, and 9:22 you did jc, jb, land, run, 5b, 5c, 3c, ice car instead. I also off hand don’t know the damage finishing with ice car does versus finishing with 6c, DC, 5c, JC, and so on, so I may be wrong thinking finishing with just ice car does less damage.
As for seeing your oki, I think I saw you use 6a once haha but that was not on oki, it was after a blocked string.
Edit: ah Ok, nevermind then haha. Thanks for the match up info.
–ATTENTION XBL PLAYERS–
go on the jin leaderboards and download KEIXXX’s and Pomesama’s (Ren) replays.
in KEXXX’s replay you will see good corner rape combos and corner rape blockstring pressure, as well as what moves u have that can be punished by bang horribly.
in Pomesama’s replay you will see good corner combos and oki set ups
and oneInchPunch the damage diff. in the combos cant be more than 4 or 5% so i see it as 5% vs. possible 25-30% combo after oki. but at times it is better to go for the damage i guess
Saw that fight last night yea its a good vid to watch
Ok, just finished up my first REAL online venture, and overall, it was pretty successful, but not without it’s problems.
First off, after a ton of matches, I only had one with input lag, so that was good. Second, with my Jin, I was able to mop up pretty much everyone…EXCEPT Arakune. Ok, I beat a few, but there were a few that left me scratching my head. His j.B is fucking unstoppable. He would keep me pinned down with it the entire time, the only thing I could do was burst. Other than a couple of great Rachels, a few good Ragna’s and a nice Tager, I was pretty successful. Went to level 25 (?) in about 3 1/2 hours, so I’m pretty happy.
Good job Qwerty. Represent that Jin!
Anyways, Arakune’s j.B can be beat with an early A Fubuki but it has to be early. I’ve had j.B go right through a late A Fubuki and still tag me. C Fubuki will also beat that as well but you’ll have to adjust the timing as well. Otherwise, you can IB the last hit of the j.B and punish after wards. I believe you can also do jump barrier and then back dash out of there if you want to play it safe.
Anyone able to upload those XBL replays? or at the very least describe that corner pressure.
I have one replay where I came back in dramatic fashion in a Jin mirror match, but how do I upload it?
I can’t upload videos for some reason. I forgot how to. Don’t both people have to agree to upload it or something? I’ve never really tried to upload one before.
but yea…Arakune is a bitch. I fought against a real good one. He didn’t use all of his shenanigans, but he used most of them. Once I figure it out I’ll let you guys know.
Negative Penalty…
How does the whole negative penalty thing work?
I’ve been playing the game for a few days and when playing Jin like scrub Akuma spamming air fireballs to kill time or against people who seem to have no idea what they’re doing, I’ve received it a few times. However, the better Arakune and Rachel players I’ve seen/played spam their ranged everything yet never get it, and I’ve seen them go more than 10-15 seconds just moving while sometimes hitting a blocking opponent. Likewise, I thought it went away after hitting the opponent, yet after hitting a Ragna at least once, if not twice, I still had the damn thing, when it seemed to have always gone away by hitting someone just once.
I know I’m only somewhere between garbage tier and “hey I can freeze people to BnB them” skill wise, but after having an Arakune match where I nearly got the damn thing twice while all he did was teleport from side of the screen to another and didn’t get a warning in round one, and then in round two do the same thing but this time I would block cursed objects from time to time as the clock slowly dies down, I’m curious if the penalty is character dependent (Arakune, Rachel, and Nu needing to stay further away to keep opposition in a specific range would make this make sense in my mind) or if it’s truly the same universal.
Forgive the dumb question but curiosity needs to know how this mechanic works, especially in favor/out-of-favor for Jin.
Literally just had a Tao match where we both just hit left and right dancing in the corner, she did a drive attack or two, I let an icicle or two go, then both back to corner for about ten seconds, I got the penalty she got nothing, not even a warning. I then hit most of a ground combo on her and I still had it till the end of the round. Forgive the stupidity, but now I’ve even more curious, as in the second round she kept backing away and got the penalty while I never got a warning but was hardly rushing her down.
Both GG and BB punish those you like to run away and try to play safe so Negative Penalty occurs the more you back dash and the more you run away from your opponent. Once you get the Negative Penalty you take more damage than usual and I can’t remember how long the effects last. Arakune players can get away with it as they are still doing something offensive while in the corner and are probably moving forward a bit during this time they are in the corner. Jin should never be on the defensive like that and should be trying to size up range for a poke to land a CH to BnB or rushing down.
A newbie question about combos from a freeze: Are there any good modifications to a bnb that involves two freezes? Like, for example, I do something like 5D 6C dc 5C hjc.B j.C dj.C dj.D 214B, which works just fine without the 5D at the beginning but with 5D at the start, I find that I can’t finish this because the opponent techs after the first hit of 214C. I usually just leave off the 214B but I feel odd doing this because it just feels unfinished.
You can freeze again with a throw.
Yah, I knew that. But how should I use throws in combos? I don’t think you can combo into air throws, at least I can’t do it ;_;
By the way, good thread you have here. It’s cool that you actually gave setups for the combos and went into how meter should be used for Jin as well as some of his other options instead of just throwing lists of combos around with barely any explanation like some sites do.
