sorry to be a noob to all the fighting game terminology but what is IAD is it like a 1 a then d button commands or something

IAD = Instant Air Dash you are basically tapping 696 really quickly so you air dash close to the ground.

gotcha! i can do alot of the stuff, i just dont understand the lingo haha

Good shit Killey, another quality write up for SRK

You can actually shorten that input to 96. The 9 is counted as 8 and 6 so it can be used for the first input of a dash.

Good stuff on the Tager write up.

Tested the 5B 5C j.B j.C j.D and it’ll work on everyone without a run in except Arakune and Rachel. Kune needs a run in. Rachel is just too small but that’s ok we can ice train her for some lulz.

Is there any new timing for Carl and Bang? It doesn’t change too much in the Carl match up but that does make an impact on the Bang match up, imo. It actually makes Bang susceptible to Jin’s more common reset options and gives Jin access to more damage off of 5B. I’ll need to start practicing the timing once more.

I actually need some advice on how to fight Clap Loop Carls. Zoning with 5D works for a bit but eventually they stop coming to you and wait for you to come to them. Your basically forcing yourself in a position of Nirvana You Carl and that’s not smart at all. I’d hate to turtle the match out with spamming 5D and Ice Swords and Carl refuses to come to me then it gets incredibly boring. I have limited success with rushing Carl down as a single mistake = clap loop.

I should note one other thing about Tager and it’s a comment on his huge hit boxes. Tager’s huge hit box obviously opens up character specific combos and you get away with things that you normally don’t get away with. First off, jumping in deep with j.B, j.C, can be JC into j.B, j.C, j.D combo on a standing Tager. It also ups your block strings on Tager as j.B, j.A (whiff), j.B, JC, j.B, j.C, etc… keep Tager pinned down quite a bit. You can frustrate Tager significantly with long block strings and constant pressure. Your block string timing can be varied as well and mix in 6D to bait out his back dashes. Tager will think he has room to breath and back dash out of a block string during the startup of 6D but will get tagged by it at the end of his recovery frames. I use to hate this match up but as I fight more and more Tagers I just find differnet tactics against him.

My bad. Forgot Bang, he avoids it along with Rachel. But yeah Carl can get combo’d by it.

Yeah, I tested the timing tonight and after 3 attempts at Bang I just concluded it can’t be done.

The timing on Carl is extremely tight and I don’t think I can get that out on a consistent basis in a match.

Jin’s ground bnb timing

Hey guys, I thought I should give my 2 cents on the whole “default timing” for Jin’s ground bnb subject. The way how I do it is…

Close 5B(2 hits),no delay 5C, J.B asap, “minor” delay J.C, “major” delay J.D

The J.D should come out about a foot off the ground. The reason I like this is because it works on everyone(except Rachel and Bang).

If you use this timing method you’ll be able to do the bnb WITHOUT dashing in first, the only exception being Arakune. Although Arakune’s hit-box is really weird cause I can get all the hits in the bnb to connect without dashing, but the J.D breaks combo for some reason… But if you dash-in the whole bnb will land easily.

Carl is much harder then the rest of the cast to land the bnb on, but it can be done without dashing. Dashing in just makes it A LOT easier:lol:. If I dash-in first, I can land the bnb about 90% of the time using this method. If I’m just standing close maybe 20% my Hori FS3 doesn’t help my execution either :bluu:.

I hope this helps and if you want, I could make a video to show how it’s done. It might take a day or two but I’ll be sure to get it done asap.

OK Jins… I’m sick of getting gray combo’d after being frozen. Whats the most efficient mash to get out of that fucking ice?

There is no efficient method to mash out of ice and it’s really not that hard to get out of ice. Personally, I find that you have to start mashing as soon as you are frozen especially when you get hit by 5D and they dash cancel into 6C. If you start mashing the moment you get hit by 5D you’ll get out no problem but a second or two later you’ll most likely be eating 6C black combo.

The thing that annoys me is that when I breaking out of ice, I’ll break out, but because I broke out while hitting forward (you know, you have to go back and forth to break out) I’ll still eat the follow-up. So annoying

Agreed. Does button mashing help? Normally I throw out some attack on accident as soon as I escape and it puts me back in another combo.

I believe only directions count. I do fine without mashing any buttons.

Nah. As far as I know, only 6 and 4 register as commands to get out of ice. I think throwing out an attack would just get you counter-hit anyways

Mashing buttons has no effect on you escaping from Ice at all. It’s not totally useless to do in terms of trying to CH a slow Jin if he tries to follow up with 6C when he shouldn’t. I know in the mirror C Mash is useful when you break out of the ice.

Anyways, did some matches with fellow Dustloop people and one of them recorded 2 matches we did. Feel free to critique and rip apart it. I dropped a lot of combos in the first set and I don’t know why I didn’t go for Sekkajin after hit confirming 5B, 5C.

Also, went toe-to-toe with Heidern98 on Dloop who is currently the number 1 ranked Jin on PSN. Ended our set at 7-8 in his favor but incredibly fun matches. Interesting style of Jin that man plays.

Lol, holy shit, can’t believe you did so well against Heidern! That guy is a serious monster, one of the best Jin’s around for sure

Heidern plays a really safe Jin he doesn’t turtle but he throws out very safe moves and waits for you to screw up then he makes his offensive.

My Jin on the other hand is about tricks, frame traps, cross ups, and resets which he isn’t use to seeing so I generally take other Jin’s by surprise when I start mixing things up a lot. Once people start seeing through my tricks I’ll have a harder time landing solid hits and maintaining momentum. I’ll eventually end up reverting to a more defensive Jin play style. I can’t really bring myself to such a style though since I absolutely love the offensive risky rush that players like Buppa do. It’s just so gratifying when you start mixing people up and just frustrate the crap out of them as it’s one reset after another.

In general a lot of people have issues with my block string ending in IAD j236D which is a reverse cross up using the EX Tripe Ice. I absolutely love that move.

I’ve been getting experience vs a good Litchi player recently and goddamn it’s a tough matchup. I know it’s about even but it sure doesn’t seem like it sometimes…

I have a question.

How do you guys get out of a pressure game? I mean if the opponent is rushing you down. It’s true that I started playing the game only 2 days ago and I am really not good, but that shit just pisses me off :D.

Played against a Ragna who was really rushing me down, and I had no idea what to do :/.

So what are the best options for getting out?

Thanks for the answers and sorry if I sound such a noob (which I really am xD).
