Yeah, but for those, they are the same model over and over. Old Jill had 4-5 different attacks each requiring different sprites. Plus they already said they were having trouble with Frank, so Old Jill had little hope of returning.
Are you seriously comparing a tiny Servbot to full scale models like Strider’s Tigers and Birds or Jill’s Zombie or Tyrant? You do know that repeating one model 30 times (or how many Servbots are there during that hyper) is considerably easier than 30 different models? Animations aren’t really the problem here, the textures are. Also that not enough RAM comment was made by the producer himself. And I’m pretty sure that guys at Capcom Unity don’t know jack about the game development, especially things like how much RAM is availible for a character.
Well the video hasn’t shown her level 3, nor her feral crouch state; as seen in the Bradygames guide, which gives her a different moveset not shown.
Her level 3 lets her instant-teleport with :ub:, , :f:, :uf: and cancel specials into specials infinitely. The trailer doesn’t do her justice, as it just shows brief magic series into air combos and her level 1 hypers… which the guide also says are pretty bad.
This is an example why leaks can kill hype rather than build it.
Keep in mind she is unfinished, the official Capcom trailer will show the finished product and thus bringing more hype.
King Kobun, Gustav, helicopter servbot and the lunch rush servbots are all different models. Strider only had two different models, eagle and dog. 30 different models? What the hell are you talking about?
Also, the Unity Stream was from S-Kill and other devs in reaction to the over reactions to Niitsuma’s comments.
nothing wrong with her face IMO, given that she is/was based on Julia Voth. She looks very similar to her. she looks really cute, but in terms of moves kinda meh… should have stuck with original jill.
King Kobun doesn’t really have many textures, just the color, Gustav IS Tron, and yeah two slightly different extremely small servbot models. And “30 different models” refers to Lunch Rush, because it is one or two low res models over and over again not all different models.
Now none of the guys at the Unity are from the development team, and Seth again is not one of the programmers. And they didn’t really deconfirm the RAM issue they said something like “RAM is a problem? We are sure they have a way around it.” You don’t even need to be a developer to understand that current gen consoles have very low RAM, and this is very evident with fighting games that need to run at 60 fps. And MvC3 barely runs at 60 FPS, in fact there are slowdowns during some of the hyper and especially team hyper combos.
I expected more gunfire.
I know right? Right now Machine Gun Spray looks like her only gun use.
A few new Jill screen shots.

the one with Dormammu proves Jill likes it rough.
This should be copy pasted into the first post so people don’t feel the need to say “omg her moves so bland” over and over. Anyway despite being half finished I think she looks pretty cool. Old Jill was great and all with her non blond hair and outfit but I got over the change in looks back when I played RE5 so to me this design is pretty great aesthetically and her moves also look pretty cool. I’d rather see Jill fighting like she’s capable rather than another “What’s that!?” mediocre summon fest. Leave that to Frank, he could pull it off fine.
Same… TBH from the original information pre-screenshot/movelist I expected her to be something like a pixie-ish Chris with sort of a mid range ghetto-zoning/poking vibe.
What we’ve seen doesn’t look too bad, there isn’t really enough to make a call, just showing off some basic stuff… and obviously they’re -claiming- that she’s unfinished, so the final product might look different.
I mean when her official artwork shows her with a SMG, you’d think she’d use it more. It doesn’t have to be like Chris, but I was at least expecting it to get it’s own move.
Trish has one of her guns in the artwork and she only uses it when she does her throw, or during her lvl3. Yeah, it’s weird.
Whelp, the gameplay video got taken down. Only a matter of time.
Just to weigh in on the subject, it is also possible that a character like Tron is allocated more space in game to function, which means that another character has to be decreased in terms of RAM/memory/space on the disc.
For example (and I know some of you are going to hate me for this), take Super Smash Brothers Brawl. I used to poke and prod around in the game’s data. A character like Link has roughly 500 or 600kb of allocated space in memory for just his moveset data, on top of the other few megabytes for his articles, textures, and accessories. He takes up a decent chunk of the game’s memory when he’s in play. To offset this, a character like Zero Suit Samus, only has about 290kb of allocated space for all her crap. If you exceed the amount of space allocated for the character, some slow down can occur. If you exceed it by too much, the game will just crash.
So if you have a large amount of characters like Sentinel, MODOK, Tron, and Dante eating up space with their animations, parts, and effects, then the rest of the case has to be able to offset them. If they can’t, then you’re going to be dealing with serious space issues, thus why a character like Frank probably didn’t make the cut as he was the biggest offender and it came down to having Frank or like 2 or 3 other characters, you’ll take quantity.
Granted, take all this with a grain of salt as it’s been a LONG time since I’ve done programming so I could be entirely off base.
I thought Gustav was the little red hat Servbot at the end?
No. That’s just her favorite Servbot. It’s been a while since I’ve played or even thought about Megaman Legends but I think it’s name is Servbot #42?
Anyways, Gustav is the name of the giant green robot she rides around in.

I think its fine…I mean Jill really did not use her guns much when you fought her…she mainly just did physical attacks and rarely used her machine guns…hmm I just hope Jill changes her victory pose…to me it doesn’t fit her… I don’t think she ever said," now you’ll become one of us" in RE 5…
