Jill fell out of a window. The Chris Redfield Teammates discussion thread

No worries bro. I got this info straight from the strategy guide. Any frame data I post I will do so from the guide. It’s a two frame difference, but its there.

nvm, I’m wrong lol. Good stuff.

Was messing around with Chris the other day and came up with this team:

Chris (Grenade Toss), Nova (Centurion Rush), Taskmaster (H. Shot)

What do you guys think?

Not a bad team. Nova’s assist is always nice for unblockables and Taskmaster’s Arrows cover a good amount of space. I think the team has some good combo synergy as well.

While the gameplay isn’t the greatest and the combos are not the most optimal this team had me busting a gut:

You know… I was thinking of something like this for a Chris team. looks susceptible to teleports though.

Just a team focused on being as annoying as possible

Wouldn’t Doom’s rocks help cover behind? Plus Chris has that invincible standup thing from the prone gunshot. Storm’s assist is also useful just for keeping them out. Imagine this team with higher knowledge of the characters (I might have to learn it).

There’s potential. But as was mentioned earlier in discussion you dont want Chris pushblocked full screen, the other player allowed Chris to be out there.

I think the best use of Storm’s Whirlwind would be to have it push back and chip while Chris moves forward and tosses a grenade, which was one thing in particular the player did well to push the opponent into the grenade

I like the team but Hidden Missiles is probably much more effective than Molecular Shield, especially since you already have a horizontal assist. As for anti-teleport, pretty much any Chris team is susceptible to teleports if it doesn’t have Lariat on it. Some other assists can be used to help you defend against teleports like Missiles and Drones (if spaced properly) but you have to keep in mind that any good player with a teleport character has a beam or some sort of horizontal assist backing them up. These assists can beat the start up of any assist besides Lariat (especially if they have Disruptor), and if it doesn’t beat the start up, it plows right through (Doom’s Plasma Beam for example goes through a ton of assists) so yeah, Lariat’s the only real anti-teleport assist in my opinion. With all that said, I think Missiles will benefit your team greatly since it’ll help with teleports and help zone as well. A tri-dash character with Missiles is also very scary, so Storm benefits too, especially since she can also zone. I’m not saying drop everything and use Missiles, I’m just saying experiment with it and see what works best for you.

I think if Chris smells an assist call he should magnum the shit out of it

If this game had no teleports or flight, I’d agree with this statement, haha. Magnum leaves you sitting there while the opponent gets in on you and does an attack. In certain cases, I blast assists away too, but for the most part, I have to block/avoid the assist and hold that. Basically, one magnum on an assist isn’t worth eating a full combo from a teleport or tri-dash character.

I think its worth it on non teleporters.

Flight plink dash is extremely quick as well.

Yeah as much as I like the Chris Dante Strider team I have 3 teams. I played a set with a much better player and found only frustration. I’m gonna go back to my original team of Haggar Chris Taskmaster as all three are guys I can use.

EDIT: Reason for this is since I have 3 teams. one for each of my faves as I was having difficulty with them as a whole. So I am just gonna stick it out with my favorites and work on them in earnest, as once either of them die, my team just crumbles.

For anyone interested in putting nova on thier team, nova can cancel his air super nova into grenade launcher in the corner if done early. The first grenade misses but the rest hits allowing for more followups.

I’m working on Nova, Chris landmine, Sentinel drones as a secondary team to my Haggar, Chris, Sentinel. It’s always a good idea to have more than one team for different matchups.

Very true. I remembered why I dropped my team of Haggar Chris Taskmaster… Hawkeye Vergil Trish and Ghost Rider give my team fits and puts a lot of pressure on taskmaster.

The team is made up of my favorite characters. Vergil is a favorite as I liked him in DMC3 and I am considering learning him to slot him in as a backup. He should be able to work fine in place of Haggar or Chris dependent on the matchup… I think.

Yeah. after trying him out, I’m switching in Vergil for select matchups.

Chris (gun fire) Vergil (rapid slash) Taskmaster (Aim L) can do it.

Chris is a solid battery which gives Vergil meter. Vergil gives him safe DHCs

I have interesting news. A person at Next Level during casuals before Curleh Mustache played me with my own team of Haggar Chris Taskmaster since he uses Chris and Haggar also.

The result? I will switch Chris Gun Fire to Land Mine. On welcome mixup you must guess on placement of Violent Axe L or M. If I guess wrong. you cant punish since Haggar is standing on top of a mine. If you get hit… you die.

What’s this axe placement / mine mix up your talking about densuo?
Iv been using mine but purely for haggars pickups (easier timing then gunshot)

Basically on incoming you can use Violent Axe any strength. or Hoodlum Launcher L as a cross-under attempt. Before this you plant land mine.

Land Mine is certainly easier for Pickups after a Piledriver. You can call assists during the camera transistion of Pile driver and off regular ground throw. but you can not for Sky High Backdrop., and Air Throw assist pick ups are easy for the Mayor.

I’ll try make a video.

I don’t need Gun Fire for Haggar since I use task arrows.

Can anybody help me with some combos for Chris/Strange/Hawkeye?

Chris/Strange/Nova is also applicable. Whichever produces better results.

[Edit:] Disregard this post. Not relevant anymore.
