Well, I tried the mid screen one vs a Ryu dummy. I could not for the life of me get the ultra to connect. This is as close as I could get.

EDIT-
Just tried the corner one with a Ryu dummy. During the super I kept passing under him using straight for the first hit of the super and uppers for the rest. I switched to Sagat and had better luck, but still couldn’t connect the ultra. Video of the attempt below.

Are we certain this is possible? Maybe I just suck.
Well, I threw together a little video consolidating the ten “tricks” on the first page as a visual aid for anyone trying to sort them out. Have a looksie.

Also, I wasn’t 100% certain on who all contributed, so I threw credit to everyone Jav1ts named in his thread, including shout outs. Sorry if you contributed but aren’t in the credits.
Nice effort with the video, always interesting to see the things in motion to get the full grasp of things. Big thanks to Jav1ts for the thread, big inspiration to a tiring Rog user.
In case anyone is having trouble with Trick 4 I found that after dashing forward then going straight to db then to b then to ub works as well and is much more consistent to me at least.
Also auto correct Ultra punishes Bisons Ultra as well, just do the usual KPKK for the juggle.
Just a note, I think Jav1ts posted a list of possible applications for Armour Cancel Ultra and listed Bison’s cr.jab and cr. short on oki as uses. Maybe my opponent timed the jab to be super meaty with a side of deli meats, but my ultra was blocked despite attempting to use the faster activation tricks.
I was also watching Keno’s ‘The Specialist’ matches against Shizza (Chun player) and after he did a headbutt knockdown, he would do either jab or fierce headbutt straight away to get a kind of mixup on knockdown. Kind of similar to the ambiguous crossup, but more effective because people see a whiffed headbutt and think to throw something out, but I think Keno managed to do his headbutt to be at frame advantage and went into a cr. jab > whatever combo. No homo to Keno or anything but I look up to your boxer along with Maeda Taison right now. You’ve got some really great mental games you play with your opponents.
Also, here’s something I pulled off during casuals against one of my mates. Maybe not the biggest revelation ever, but more a re-hash of an existing trick. Pretty much what I did was instead of resetting an ex upper loop combo with either a tick throw or ex OH smash, I did the Gootecks walk back cr. mp > combo kind of reset. Sure, it loses to blocking, but I’d conditioned them to expect the tick throw, so I made them eat HUGE damage as I went into another ex upper loop combo.
Nice vid, but was that really “trick 10” as described by javits? maybe it was just the low framerate of my movie, but i didn’t notice a dash or focus in your “back to the corner bitch!”.
wow thanks XAAZ !!! awesome videos of my rog tricks now hopefully more people will start using them! I noticed a few things I could correct though, I think I wasn’t fully clear so I’ll just clear it up here. When you showed “Super with frame trick” you didnt have to hold the kick button to get a uppercut. Just -Activate- the super with a --kick-- button and let the – straights — come out. It still punishes Honda’s EX headbutt (and akuma’s cr. roundhouse) and works midscreen, not just in the corner. Although what you showed is still a punish, it doesnt always work midscreen but the method I’m telling you (which was discovered by Eduardo Perez a.k.a. vVv Scrub) is a guaranteed punish. The Ultra with frame trick was shown correctly though so thanks for that
I hopped on Live last night after not having played an actual match of SFIV in about two weeks. So predictably I was scrubbing it up doing stupid shit left and right and losing about 1/3 of my matches. Then I got paired up against this Bison player. The match was going fairly well, split one round each, then near the end of the third round the Bison threw out a random ultra (I imagine trying to catch me doing a poke). So while I was blocking the ultra I thought to myself, “Hey wait a minute, don’t I know a trickfor this exact situation?” Immediately after which the Bison ate a j.rh, cs.rh, fs.jab, ex.upper, cr.jab, cr.short, ex.upper, cr.jab, cr.short, f.hb combo and I won the match.
Irrelevant and unnecessary post, I know. But I had to share.
That was me, actually, I posted (nearly) all moves punishable with Kara Ultra found from my research.
Crouching LP is not one of the punishable moves.
The list is on the first page of the thread if you want to peruse it and test some stuff out for yourself.
Aye it’s very nice, however I’ve not fully incorporated anything like that myself, yet - I tend to Light Upper on Knockdown to get up close/meter build or on long-knockdown (Ultras) TAP>Upper for the same reasons but on occasion I alter it by headbutting right over them and seeing just how quick they are on blocking the opposing side // how quick they are to change direction, in which case it’s handy to HB into a throw or an additional combo from behind if they mess up and it can (if you’re real lucky) put an end to some if not most mashed out wakeup options though if you’re feeling a bit too risky you can still eat a mashed out auto corrected SRK or something.
Either way, it’s Boxers like Keno, Gootecks, Ronstoppable and, lately, Maida Tyson who influenced me to use Boxer when I bought the game so you’re not alone in giving praise - They’re very inspiring players
I’m gonna make a post soon on a bunch of option selects with rog that really make some matches much easier because of how powerful they are. Stay tuned
