Cuz it’s an unblanced buggy glitchy excuse for a piece of shit, and Americans are the only ones who haven’t figured that out by now. shrug Well, that’s the reason I don’t play it anymore. looks at dusty import dc copy I can’t believe I paid 60 bucks for you when you first came out.
…as far as I know, Cole does not have a good record vs. the Japanese. The only Japanese players I can remember him beating are Nuki (who doesn’t even play ST) and Chikyuu (who HELLA doesn’t play ST). At last year’s Evo, he lost to Tokido (who also doesn’t play ST). The only two real Japanese ST players that I’ve seen him face (Gian and Daigo) both beat him.
The fact that they don’t play Marvel and never have.
i thought the japanese had some players back years ago like white, rom, liquid metal, and those guys
Just the fact that you question it at the end of your post was the reason i posted the question. I to fee that japanesse have way much of an edge.
but with recent developments one cant help but wonder.
Iron man infinite can only take you so far.
Tell you what, how about we just see what happens at Evo, and not talk about it ever ever again, kplzthx?
Why is that, exactly?
Let’s look at the games the Japanese play.
Last time I checked, Alpha 3 has a shitload of bugs and infinites.
Vampire Savior has a shitload of infinites, a few bugs.
CvS2 has Roll Cancel.
MvC2 just wasn’t hyped enough in Japan when it came out, so it didn’t garner much attention. Along with other factors like character loyalty will not get them anywhere, earning characters in Japan were a bit hard, etc. The game just doesn’t fly well outside of a select few in Japan.
The generally thought idea is the unfamiliarity with the source characters, and that the Capcom chars have been consistantly weak compared to the Marvel side in every VS game.
Well, that’s for the VS series as a whole, the initial run of MvC2 was pretty stupid when it came to unlocking everyone and by the time they made the next revision that took this out no one cared.
EDIT: ken said what I meant to say
It’s not just Japan that didn’t buy into the VS series… ever notice when the sudden drop off of arcade power, and popularity happened?
The Vs. series was always considered crap and noone took it serious until MVC2. It was considered scrubby next to real SF.
Not that I believe that, but that’s how it was.
You are quite incorrect sir, as MvC1 had a large scene before MVC2 came out (of course this was pre-srk, back in the agsf2 days, so I don’t expect everyone to know that. In fact the reasons why people took MVC2 seriously is due in part to the MVC1 players and pioneers of the game that proved that the vs series was not a button mashing scrubfest, etc.
Look up some ECC3-5 mvc1 results, and read about the scene they had in places like Cali, CT, NJ etc etc. Hell B5 even had a mvc1 ec/wc invitational at the end of the game’s life (in 2001.) I’m just letting you know that those mvc1 tourneys were biger than tourneys that were at ECC11 last weekend, and again, this was before there even was a srk.com lol
No one ever wonder if CvS2 didnt had RC how the japanese players would play it? would they be the best CvS2 players?
Someone wrote somewere that if Evolution had CvS2 for the USA version of XboX: the japanese players wouldnt win so many CvS2 tournaments and most of them wouldnt come to CvS2 tournaments at Evo.
Maybe this is wrong information but then again: would the Japanese players play CvS2 tournaments in a version were RC doesnt exist?
I think the real question is will Japanese players come out for DOA4…and Mario Kart DS
Oh what the fuck, lots of Halo freaks in shoryuken.
If I could, I’d enter Evo. I’d lose. Hard. But I’d enter cuz I love America! I want us to win for national pride. I’m like Kim Kaph Wan!
I think that there are a handful of people in America who could win. Whether or not they’ll suddenly show up is the question…
Do you know who the best team in WC3: TFT is as of now? It’s 4K
Japanese and shooters
USA/Euros dominate shooters. Look at the placing for countries in CS/CS:S/Quake 3 and 4/Painkiller
I bet the Japanese would own in Shmups, the other type of Shooters.
Maybe with this new Japanese competition, it will help strengthen the community here.
I was not implying it to Halo, in fact, I hate Halo.
So you know somewhat about the fighting community, big whoopie-fuckin’-doo. Don’t mean you know jack shit on the FPS community.
Ooooooh, what a big man you are! Now go buy yourself a pack of gum so I can show ya’ how to chew it.
Seriously, your type of people are just so fuckin’ clueless of how the scene works outside of fighting games. You got bitches in Japan playing Doom 3 and love it when some of the best players from America come in and challange them. And hell, Americans have won quiet a bit against Japan when it comes to FPS. Shit, even certain strag games.
So yeah, you really have no idea what your talking about.
