Japanese stick problems

i have a namco stick and the ball on the stick keeps on getting loose. is there any way i can have the ball on the stick permenantly?

You could glue it down heh. But if it’s the same as say a Sanwa, there should be a flathead screw thingy on the bottom of the shaft that the balltop screw onto the top. So take a flathhead screwdriver and screw in one direction and twist the balltop in the other. I’ve done it with a bunch of Sanwas and it’s not permanent but it won’t get loose.

Get a tube of Blue Loctite. DO NOT GET RED LOCTITE.

The sanwa sticks on my cab both would come off even if you cranked them down with a screwdriver. Got a tube of loctite, and bam they never unscrew

I would suggest Loctite 222 (purple low-strength) or 243 (blue medium-strength). 243 is probably the better one in this situation, as a stick can get thrashed pretty hard.

Also, make sure that you don’t use too much. One drop is enough, and often more than you need. I’ve seen people try filling the entire hole with Loctite and the results are not pretty.

eh…get another stick/balltop. if you ever wanted to change out your stick i would think you’d be fucking yourself for later if you decide to use industrial strength glues…

jizz…

or glue.

Loctite threadlocker (provided you use a blue or purple sort) is specifically designed to resist casual unscrewing, but a good solid twist will snap the bond and it then unscrews easily. It’s not a regular glue.

But, if you do use red… it’s permanent. You have to actually heat up the loctite to remove it.

there slit on the bottom of the shaft that you can stick a flat head screwdriver in to keep it from turning. then you can tighten the ball with your hand.

Only to 250C. Easily attainable with a small blowtorch.

Note: I claim no responsibility for any damage caused by this.

i see…in america, its traditional to not have blowtorches

I was being facetious. I don’t expect anyone in this thread to actually own a blowtorch.
