Japanese players ranking from 2ch

I don’t know how seriously I’d take a post on any chan website.
I wouldn’t base someone’s skill level purely off of casual matches either though.

In what tournament footage has his play been anything less than impressive?

you probably should watch the dvds first before u make such a comment…KURODA DOES KARA PALM IN ALMOST EVERY SINGLE GAME, and he is very consistent with it. And even before i watched the dvds, i was impressed by how he plays yun (the youtube videos you mentioned), if u watch carefully, he punished ken’s dash in with the 123 combo, i think thats just amazing, i havent seen anyone else done that. and kuroda does this a lot more in the hugo dvd, he punishes dash-ins with 360, sometimes buffered 720.

Oh we’ll all watch it.

Soon as you post it.

That’s hardly a good reason. I’ve seen Mester and Saru do kara-palms perfectly in game, but that doesn’t necessarily make them better players.

Yeah, And If you want to risk Ending Kuroda’s 3S career.

EDIT: I Love Jida ( No Homo )

EDIT EDIT: WOW!!! I multiquoted right for once! Thanks to… er… Someone for Teaching me that.

There are no vids, he made them up guys >_>

zaijan2009…

or could it be… satan? i mean… kuroda?

lolz

These vids better exist and they better be on youtube or Ill shit a chicken.

Kuroda’s personality aside: I agree for the most part with the list. Many players is japan say he is the best overall 3s player in the world. I could care less of he is an asshole, he is a fucking inhuman beast at this game and that is all that needs to be said.

Actually, I’ve been to his zaijian’s place and seen a few of them personally. (Or I could be making shit up too .)

I’ve had my dash-ins punished by combos before, so that wasn’t a big deal to me. But Kuroda doing 360s consistently on reaction to Ken’s dash-in was very impressive. In addition, he would try to red-parry the second hit of anything. He seemed pretty inconsistent at red-parrying the second hit of an EX-hadoken, but he was quite consistent at red-parrying chain combos (and following up with a 360 or 720, even).

One of the disappointing aspects of those videos is that you do not know who he is playing against, and furthermore a lot of the players didn’t look top-level. For example, his 60-something wins with Hugo were against ~4 different players who looked mediocre compared to what we see on Youtube .

I’m not surprised to see Kuroda missing from the Makotos list, because his Makoto was pretty bland, mindgames-wise. His execution skill, however, did not disappoint. He actually hit Ken with an EX-hayate (kara-?)hayate combo in the corner! :wow: I’m assuming it was some kind of kara-hayate because I didn’t even know it was possible to do a double hayate on Ken in the corner! My best guess is he did it with standing mk because later I saw him follow-up another EX-hayate with mk (which of course missed), probably by accident. He was also doing a lot of kara-hayate fakes that would inch him backwards.

Anyway, back to the player rankings, I had no idea that Boss was so good with so many characters. I’m also surprised that J is listed so highly for Makoto and Yang when I’m not aware of any recent videos of him playing 3s (i.e. TheShend hasn’t uploaded any vids of him recently, as far as I know), and I remember people posting that he had retired from 3s. The only recent J vids I’ve seen have been in Arcana Heart Full.

PS: does anyone have any gossip on MOV’s personality? One of my friends, who understands Japanese, says he absolutely hates MOV from how he talks at SBO, in interviews, etc.

MOV was very friendly to me when I was at EVO couple of years ago, he even complimented my Dudley… and then proceed to kick my ass.

I Agree with you %100…
… I think.

care to give us SBO interviews translations? that would be quite interesting for most people

He seems pretty chill with little spats of assholism.

Like how he was at SBO4 (I think it was 4) where he parried half of Nuki’s super and then proceeded to beast him K.O and I think Kokujin. After the match he said something meaning “weak”, which is actually hilarious to me.

I don’t have to hang out with these guys so I’m not really worried about how shitty their personalities are.

EDIT: And wasn’t there supposed to be some footage of Hayao vs. YSB? What happened to that?

I could also careless about their personalities. I just want to see their skills, no need to see their face or hear t hem talk or anything. But hey, trash talking is fun too so I don’t mind that at all!

well ive never seen his hugo nor the dvds you mentioned and i think no one else posting has either so might as well leave it out of the conversation cuz its pointless, unless you plan on uploadin them vids.

and kuroda aint gonna quit because someone uploaded vids of him playing, and thats a real stupid thing to say if he really said that.

upload them vids and see if he quits, no skin off of none of our balls anway, one less jap to beat us at sbo.

and who cares if hes an asshole, if you can beast like him, you have earned your asshole card

HOw is NItto better than Match with Akuma ?

sorry, i didn’t mean he will quit playing 3s, i mean he will refuse to record any matches if people upload these ???DVD
the detail is here, translate with google translate``
