These are also on Nicovideo, probably posted by the same person. If you can read Japanese, it’s funny to check them out there because of the comments. The command changes being referred to as “foreigner-aimed” and such. Also stuff like"Will Honda be better than Claw now?" “Why did Chun Li get nothing but buffs? She was already a strong character!”, and my personal favorite, “Serves you right, wall dive spammers!”
I hadn’t noticed that T. Akiba had a section on HD Remix at is page, thanks for pointing it out!
I sooooooo want to play with one of those. >D I hope someone finds a way to activate it through emulation someday. The text for it seems to be in the standard ROM.
The comments do seem to be from people who know their stuff, it’s pretty interesting. Nicovideo seems to be more niche-oriented than Youtube, the people who will be commenting on fighting game videos mostly have a good understanding of the engine, matchups, etc.
If I understand how Sirlin explained in his last interview, he mentioned that hit box mode was already built in game, for the DC code they only had to trigger it on. If I can only find my old text files from 3 years ago I remember finding a hex address value comparison point between CPS1 and CPS2 SF2’s, it seems the main values in game code were still the same except in CPS2 they are at a differenet memory address.
Command change = foreigner-aimed , it’s like saying “foreigners have no skills”.
Someone at a Mugen forum was able to target the specific address that enabled the test mode in the CPS1 SF2s after I explained how to access it via dipswitches. It would be awesome if an equivalent address was in the CPS2 version and could be found.
Some less insightful, but funny Nicovideo comments:
“It’s because Americans hate throws.” (On the subject of the slight nerfing of mash holds)
“Cammy’s breast bouncing got nerfed.”
“Do something about Cammy’s face…”
“Aw, it’s fat Sagat? Too bad.”
“What’s ‘Green Hand’?! LOL!”
2 new videos on Nico by the same guy, one is a bunch of random matches (not high level) the other is Remix mode @Expert difficulty with Zangief the funny thing is it didn’t look that expert level everything was too easy .
