Who was the Guy player and how did you lose? I find that match kind of hard for Guy cuz I never know how to escape Abel’s pressure.
Didnt know his name, he plays on pad.
I lost due to making more mistakes than i can afford to do, and not nailing my combos properly.
I dont think there were anything special in the way i lost that one lol… salty
Haha alright. It’s true you can only make a couple mistakes against Guy.
So anyone teaming up for SFXT online? lol
i needs to go buy this… i saw like 3 or 4 friends on PSN playing it… i didn’t know it was even out.
Is SFxT popular in Japan right now? I’m looking to getting into fighting games and was wondering if this was popular in Japan maybe it would be a good idea for me to play a little bit in America. I’m going to be studying abroad in Saitama from april- august and thought fighting games could be a good way to make friends. Any thoughts?
a bit hesitant on SFxT now since i heard (not confirmed) that DLC gems are stronger than some other gems?
WTF is up with purchasing gems? it is like purchasing Guile a M4A1… I do want to play it just to get in the scene however…
Well ichiban-, hope you have fun in dasaitama… girls may occupy your time out there though. living in the sticks gets you some major action if you play your cards right around the neighborhood.
(Palms face and wonders. . . . . . “What the fuck has SRK become?”)
Hi guys, I’m planning a trip to Japan around the time of this year’s SBO. Time frame is roughly from 04/25 through 05/07. Our main focus is to hit up the arcades and level up in SF4. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-
Where are you going to stay? - Shinjuku, but open to staying anywhere closer to the arcades
-
What games do you play? - Mainly looking to play SF4
-
If you are asking for budget approximations, please give detail about:
-The number of people you will be with - 1 other person, 2 total
-Where you want to go - We mainly want to travel to the best sf4 arcades and play against top players
-How luxurious of a place you want to stay in - Preferably a place where we won’t have to share a room with other strangers, but all we really need are beds and restrooms.
-What your spending needs are : traveling to the arcades, purchasing food during the stay, and possibly sightseeing places within walking distance of the hotel or arcades
good luck finding players at the arcades lol
on the real though, im sure by then there are still gonna be people playin at the arcades, but lookin at how things are now, the numbers definitely wont be as good as it used to…
not that i can really help but maybe its better if you state your budget too.
Noob question, but is it possible to get a SF4 card without a Japanese cell phone?
Yes, but you need a phone to register it aka have a name(instead of NO NAME) and character customization.
Where do the majority of sf4 players meet up to play if not in the arcades?

You’re missing my point… which is…
Sf4 is not as hot anymore, its hard to find as many players as back then, maybe there are still times where you can find a group of strong players or scrubs at an arcade in tokyo sometimes during the weekend etc, but yeah its not as common anymore i think. I still see some people(not in Japan) talking about going to “Bigbox” like its 2009… Plus, AE is on console too. Nowadays it seems like even the hardcore arcade players play on console alot more, doing streams etc… and people right now is playin around with SFxT too
Still, do go to the arcades, I dont mean to discourage you or anything, but just dont get your hopes THAT high… its just not the same as the golden era (for sf4 its vanilla)…
Man, I probably should’ve checked this in September when I moved to Tokyo… Oh well, I’ve been taking beatings at Tachikawa’s Club Sega every now and then, and I’m moving to Akihabara on this coming Friday. (I am a horrible player)
Has anyone seen Garou: Mark of the Wolves anywhere along the Yamanote?
Well some of us are gonna meet up this weekend at HG in Akasaka.

i will be going to japan from april 30 and leaving in time to make it to evo, but hopefully i can lock up a job and a workers visa if anyone has any leads
regardless i look forward to meeting you guys/hitting up arcades/hitting up bars and losing my mind in general while im out there
I will be a lil more specific:
im staying in a sakura house nestled between akihabara and taito? its like 3 mins from the yamanote line
games: im looking to level up my play in Sf4 melty blood and learn p4U
Um if you want a job you should just be an english teacher to be honest. There aren’t a lot of jobs you’ll be able to get on that timeline, but that’s just my opinion.
His time line is just… not based on looking for work.
Power to him if he can lock a job and visa… but me thinks his chances are slim to none.
Damn good sakura house locantion tbough! That quake must have killed that biz.
