Does anyone play mvc2 anymore? I hear Alpha Station closed recently - is that accurate? I know I wasn’t able to find it when I was in Tokyo last month (I forget exactly where in Tokyo but the spot was gone from where it should have been) and then read somewhere that it closed up a few weeks before I got there. I remember reading years ago that Alpha Station was pretty much the only spot for mvc2 back then. Some of those cats did come to Evo a few times and were pretty decent.
Hello! I’ll be in Tokyo from Aug 24th to Sept 4th and would like to play some Japanese players in UMvC3. I realize it’s not a huge game there and was just wondering what the best arcade is, if any, to play some casuals or in a tournament in Tokyo. I’m not bad at the game (usually top 32 - 16 at a few American majors) and want to see how well I fare against some of Japan’s players.
I have a few clients who are lawyers, but none that deal with immigration. let me know more in detail and I can get them to point you in the right direction.
Bring a PS3 and play them online here would be your best bet for constant fights…
there is the FRB that Scott Popular hosts, but that is only once a month mi thinks. Way too busy right now to even keep up with anything that is not Starcraft 2 or Work
Okay, the past two years I had a Cultural Activities visa. This past Spring I got a job for a contractor on a US base, now I got SOFA sponsorship. Nobody in the military or my company knows shit all about Japan immigration. So I don’t really know if I’m here legally. I mailed immigration before the visa expired, they said I’m okay if I get the SOFA card before the visa runs out. I don’t believe that, but I had to take the job. So recently I got that email saying the gaijin card was abolished. I want to be sure everything’s in order before I turn my card in, so I don’t get cuffed and shipped to Narita or worse. I read enough horror stories to know that’s how Japan rolls.
If ypu are SOFA status you “technically” are not here. The fine line is where you reside… on or off US soil.
For example, if a cop stops you and asks for ypur gaijin card amd you show them your SOFA card (or military id) they stop there cause you dont need the host country’s id cards.
