well I wouldnt be homeless if I cant find a job but it would kind of suck having to pay everything without job for 2 months. problem is i only get the work visa if i’ve already got a ticket for the flight back so i cant just fly to japan and go back home if i dont find a job after 2-3 weeks.
should have planned this earlier and better but ever since my holiday in tokyo 5 years ago i just REALLY want to go back there, i havnt been in any foreign country since then just saved money. this might be my last opportunity because i’ll start university in october and probably not have this much free time again for years.
edit: another question. my dad said beginning of august there is like this huge holiday week in japan. does that mean almost everything closes up and i’ll just sit there and bore myself? or is it just offices and stuff that close?
I just got to Japan a few days ago and plan on staying here until the end of July. I’m currently staying in Okazaki (45 min train ride south of Nagoya) and plan on going to Tokyo to visit various arcades as well as Osaka for Monte 50. I try to play every game, but am a little more skilled at Blazblue, but still love sf4, 3s, cvs2, ggac, all of it practically.
Anyway, I was wondering if someone could point in the right direction for some good arcades in Nagoya. Also, if you’d like to meet up at a Tokyo arcade next week(end) to chill, play games, get some good food, talk about games etc. I’m game. I’ll probably try to stay at a manga kisaten or one of those micro hotels (dont remember what they are called exactly) in osaka/tokyo, but for now im with a friend in okazaki.
oh then you should go to Nagoya Street Battle this sunday! I’m going too.
Ive never been to Nagoya but at the NSB blog there’s a post on places to go for food/arcades in Nagoya (i printed that stuff for easier reference when im there lol)…
oh thats obon yasumi, i dont think everything closes up, especially big shops/dept stores. though i dont think im planning to go anywhere during that period, maybe just chill at home and do stuff.
Im currently at a manga kissaten and i cant seem to find nagoya street battle. Ive been going to game king joy which has been pretty fun and some decent comp there, unlike the USA. I printed out that same thing that says where the arcades are around, but dont seem to know where nsb is. If anyone could inform me where this arcade is located, that would be super. thanks!

We did pretty good man, personally it was my first serious SF tournament so I was a little nervous but overall we tore shit up. We were so close to making it to semi-finals and fighting against team GODSGARDEN but their was a serious Cody there who shut us down. I used Juri btw, didn’t even touch Sakura.

Oh I’m thinking about getting my stick modded while I’m here, any place in Japan that does lamination artwork for arcade sticks? Also what about custom buttons? I was thinking Tokyo but I’m not even sure.
for buttons, just order them online… ive ordered from sanwa and seimitsu a few times myself. unfortunately i only go as far as changing buttons when it comes to modding XD
