Shout outs to Token. Shout outs to the Hongo crew. Shout outs to reping in Japan. Shout outs to shout outs. Very GGs man. Really needed that kind of lagless competition.

Good games dude. You gotta DP or grab those overheads though!

I was a little hesitant to ask at first but, has anyone here attended Temple University Japan campus?

Or have any experience with them what so ever?

Belated, but thanks folks!

nope, never even heard of it.

Weird it’s like the only U.S. college campus in Japan as far as I know.
You can take 4 years there.

Hopefully someone here knows a little about it from an inside sort of perspective.

Hope no one minds, but I’m gonna throw my original post up in the official japan thread and see if anyone else has any insight. This doesn’t seem to get updated as often.

ah okay, im not american so i dont know much

are you thinkin of attending it?

Yeah I am, I was just curious if any srk’ers had any experience with the place.

Maybe like 6 months from now I’ll be able to meet you guys in person?

ive two american friends who were studyin in japan for awhile, but im pretty sure they werent in temple university.

seijo university and sophia univ if im not mistaken.

I’ve heard of Temple and knew a bunch of J-girls who went there but they didn’t say anything other than school sucks… which uh, would apply to any university I guess. It’s fairly well known though.

I could be wrong, but I think those are private schools, I guess the main difference is that Temple is a university in Pennsylvania with a campus in Japan, so technically I could leave Temple Japan and just take classes at Temple in the states without transferring.

I think I’m going to do more research in to Sophia sounds like a nice school.

Another thing about Sophia I forgot to mention is that it doesn’t have much in terms of the financial aid program as far as I can see, and I’d definitely need as much as I can get in that department including loans.

ok so instead of going to japan for 2 weeks i will be there for 2 months with a work and travel visa, YES! which means i can even go to sbo finals

as far is I know japanese have a lot less free time, how are the working hours there? do they work more than 8-9 hours a day? 6 days a week?

anybody know if american/english or german companys there have the usual western times like monday-friday 8-5 or adapted the japanese’?

because if i’ll just be working all the time i guess i have to save some more money so i can have at least 2 weeks holiday without working.

What kind of work do you plan on doing for only 2 months?

i dont know, i’ll take whatever i can get.

i’ve got a list of german companies who sometimes give jobs to people with the work and travel agency maybe i’ll find a small job there. i also have a gym instructor license which made it pretty easy to find some work in germany but that probably wont help since i dont speak japanese.

i dont really care what job it is though, i wouldnt mind carrying boxes or gutting fish all day either.

good luck with that, im not sure how easy can you get any job…

is it that hard in japan? isnt the unemployment rate pretty low? i’ve usually never had problems finding some work somewhere

im not sure how low is low but i recently read that the rate of unemployment in japan has raised 0.1% to 5.2%… i guess all im saying is just you seemed like you’re not planning stuff properly despite only having 2 months. im sure you can get a job if you looked for it but im not sure how quick you can get one if you intend to just go with the flow once you’ve reached here. maybe its just me but it doesnt help that you dont know the language too… and then theres the cost of living too.
