Definitely kick off the new ownership and refurbished games with a grand opening of some sort. It would be good publicity!

Glad to see this takeover. Japan Arcade was always in a good location but half the games were broken so I stopped going and went to FFA and AI instead. I’ll definitely start playing here too once all the remodeling and repairs are done.
Well, as it is now, we have no plans for either MB or AH. However, if we get MBAA for FFA, we’ll bring over our MBACb to Japan Arcade.
As for AH3, I wouldn’t count on it for Japan Arcade. That being said, the price has dropped considerably and we’ll consider getting it for FFA (especially if the console scene takes off).
I’ll be closing up Japan Arcade tonight. We should close at 1am or later, so come check it out!
I replaced a lot of buttons last night. The JP cabinets for 3S, GGXX, and HnK have brand new working buttons. Joysticks coming next!

Stopped by last night. It’s a pretty nice location. Close by (I’m in ktown/mid-wilshire), and the parking situation isn’t bad at all. There weren’t many people there around 6:30, but I still managed to get a few matches of sf4 in.
Hope you guys are successful and breathe new life into the place. I had mixed feelings when I heard ralph bought another arcade, but after visiting it does seem like it has potential. I’ll be frequenting this place often.
ps- Can you steal some stools and chairs from ffa and bring them over? That plastic bench thing on the sf4 machine… ehh 
edit// for people planning on checking it out, if you decide to park in the structure just park on level 2 near the stairs. Walk up the stairs and across the walkway into the mall entrance and the arcade will be right in front of you.
Edit2// Haha, I’m here right now and my experience is slightly different from yesterday, to say the least. 2p side of sf4 is broken so nobody is playing. I informed the worker, but he just shrugged and said to play on the 1p side. Doesn’t look like he intends to fix it any time soon, but at the very least he should’ve marked it or note that it’s broken. Been here about an hour and decide to leave, so I went to get validation and the guy says he’ll only give it to me if I buy 5 more bucks worth of tokens. 
I don’t know who this guy is (middle aged asian man), but suffice to say his conduct isn’t filling me with much confidence in this arcade refresh.
Idk what Ralph is planning with employees, but the arcade is hardly ready for a Grand Opening. Kim doesn’t know how to fix anything, and he speaks very little English. He’s the same employee who’s been working from Japan Arcade for years.
For now, I’ll tell Ralph about the P2 SF4, and see if he can get it fixed.
EDIT: I’ll probably be working from 11pm-1am on Friday and Saturday. I promise I’ll at least be a lot nicer and more helpful than Kim was =). I’ll let Ralph know about what happened to you.

Kim is not gone. He’s still behind the counter everyday. And he’s Korean =P
SF4 sticks have now been fixed, and we’ll be changing some policies regarding validation. Also, getting sticks and buttons fixed is a priority for us, as we have both Nathan (Id_asz) and a full-time tech that goes between three arcades to fix machines (FFA/Japan/Super). Let us know right away if there’s anything that needs to be fixed, and we’ll set up an email account soon that you can just message from your phone for repair alerts. We’ll do everything we can to make it worth coming to again, and if you have any ideas or suggestions for the place (except KoFXIII. We know about KoFXIII. lol) then let us know! There’s still a LOT of work for us to do, but we’ll get it done (eventually)!

I have been trying to call japan arcade about opening hour. On the thread it says maybe 1-2am. But on yelp it says on10pm…Apparently,the phone number listed on yelp, google, yellow page…etc… Was no longer in service.
I would love to drop by now if it will open late, because I live far away from downtown.
you mean to tell me japan arcade…with fixed everything finally. i’m also kinda suprised FFA took on another arcade and your support helping super arcade. what’s with the arcade conquest if you don’t mind me asking?
