I’m pretty sure there will be other really good players in the brackets that no one has heard of because they’re under a name you don’t recognize.
So since about 2-5 people know him from online, he shouldn’t be allowed to compete because he plays good online. You don’t think he should even get an opportunity to prove himself because he is ranked high on online? Like I said, and the guy above me, there will be people will more PP (can’t believe this even matters in an offline tournament) there they’re allowed in because their name isn’t recognizable.
You should seriously cap the bracket, getting a little ridiculous especially when some people are going to have an ae match at the same time as a Umvc match and stuff gets delayed.
I think we need a little more clarification and a solidification on WHO is eligible for this tournament. As far as I am concerned, everyone who I know to be really good at these games (except for killacam) is trying to jump through the loopholes of lax restrictions to turn all the true underdogs/amateurs into pot monsters.
We’ll seed by region but there will most likely be chances for you playing people you are familiar with playing, it’s unavoidable.
We’ll be okay. Keep in mind the registration list is not 100%, there will be no shows. We will have adequate set ups and will be using an on-deck system to move the brackets forward as quickly as possible.
The judges have done their best to be as objective as possible. There will always be opportunity for debate on eligibility however at a high level there were considerations made for historical tournament performance, overall skill and tenure.
This isn’t a perfect science. At the end of the day we simply wanted to offer a more balanced playing field by excluding those players that many in the community would consider to be “Killers” or tournament favourites.
