[Jan 21st, 2012]YRSF Presents: The Double Barrel - Rise of The Underdogs Redux & "Chivalry is Dead"

Am I still under the approval process or is there an answer yet?

sign me up for AE as well please  gotta wreck it with dan

I would like to enroll in AE and UMVC please as Torke.

Lol this is rediculous, if Scruffs actually is allowed in! I dont want to expose you bro, but your basically the Canadian Latif.
I hardly think previous XBL Balrog Champion and highest ranking XBL member in Canada qualifys as Underdog. But it will be funny watching you sweep this tournament and people being like “who the fuck?”

This is his second tournament, all he does is play online and he shouldn’t be allowed in an underdog tourny cause he plays online a lot? Really? An online warrior wants to compete offline and he shouldn’t be allowed in because he plays a lot of ranked. I’m sorry but that’s retarded.

How does someone become a XBL Balrog Champion anyway?

You know, online knowledge can easily be transferred offline. Online you learn to deal with lag spikes and whatnot, it’s as if you put weights on your ability and kind of dumbed yourself down to cope with these spikes. Being considered as the Canadian Latif and being able to enter an underdog tournament is silly. If he’s that well known then he shouldn’t be able to compete. It sounds like an asshole move but that’s how it is and to give the randoms, like myself, a chance at winning. Sure I don’t expect myself to win but it’d be nice if the tournament wasn’t sweeped by a well known person. If your underdog status is measured by the amounts of tournaments you participated then that can be flawed. You could have competed at EVO and still enter even if it was your first tournament? It sounds retarded but that’s what it essentially is. Inb4Daigomakesasmurfidentity.

not to be a dick, but nobody knows him except for maybe the guy above lol…if i were you., id expect a lot of random dash punches and jab mashing

Still, the man’s a beast apparently and online ranking should count for something no? If not for a lot.

Scruffs is damn good, and should not be slept on. Easily the best Balrog I’ve played against(never played JS). In saying that, I don’t think he’s finished high in tournaments due to not going, therefore I see no problem in having him in this tournament, it’s okay in the rules.

it counts for nothing…believe me, ive been #3-5 yang on xbl and it doesnt mean shit, online is an entirely different game. Your also taking the opinion of somene who is also pretty poor at the game (no disrespect). Dont worry about it, id complain if I thought someone was int he tournament unfairly, like i already have.

Online ranking counts for about as much as a dick attached to a man in a lesbian orgy. On the bright side, this last page has proven why you all belong in an underdog tournament.

You should probably play more balrogs then…no disrespect to this guy, but until I see something impressive, hes just another online grinder

Play him then. I’ve been playing around good players(Blitzman, Spiral Guy, Chaos2d etc) to know when someone is a good player, and he’s a good player. He was bodying people at ESC last time he was there as well.

lol gladly…ive played him online before i believe but as i said that doesnt count for anything…ive also played everyone youve listed on a consistent basis for the last few years and have also accomplished enough to be able to say everything mentioned above…i dont know why your arguing with me, im wanting him to be in the tournament lol

No one is arguing.

People on ranked are free, I’m considered one of the worst sf4 players in the scene and I can beast online, it doesn’t mean shit intill you can beast in a tournament, online doesn’t count for anything… Who is this guy again? I think seeing him at the esc tourney was the very first time I ever seen him and I dont remember him getting top 5 so he should be allowed in, you should worry about the actuall threats to the tourney, not a unknown player

Actually I’m pretty sure he beat me for 4th, if that was his first tournament then that’s pretty damn impressive.

Personally, I think there should be a battle of the mid tiers since some of the players in this tournament are clearly above and beyond the majority of the entrants. Also the bracket size is getting pretty ridic, A&C is gonna be packed.

the main point of me stepping in was for that fool calling this guy “the canadian latif” and “the highest ranked canadian on xbl”, which basically had a few of the new entrants up in arms (rightfully so if true)…all of the above was and is incorrect so no worries to people who got concerned.

Uh when do you expect AE to finish?

Lmao… I assure you xbl rankings serve 0 merit as far as finishing high in tournys. Ive maxed at 5100 pp and have a shitload of points with multiple characters and I haven’t won a tournament yet. Online is completely different than offline. Certainly strategies you use against characters offline are extremely hard to use online(ie swatting away jaguar kicks with dp and such). Sure concepts are the same, but gameplay is very different.
