Little Rock Bar Battles is now an official U.C.C seeder tournament!
**

**
If you don’t know what the Upper Cut Circuit is, it’s one of the fastest growing majors in Texas! It’s the culmination of the collaborative efforts of surrounding TOs to make a circuit of events and bring them together at a Regional and eventually National tournament. Tournaments that participate in the Upper-Cut Circuit get seed points to the Upper-Cut Championships later in the year - date yet TBD. The seed points are awarded based on the number of participants in the qualifying tournaments. There is a formula that goes along with it. For example:
1-8 person tournament = 1 UCC point awarded to 1st place
9-16 person tournament = 2/1
17-24 person tournament = 3/2/1
25-32 person tournament = 4/3/2/1
33-40 person tournament = 5/4/3/2/1/1
etc. etc.
All in all, UCC has a goal of building the competitive community while supporting the not so competitive players as well, so the player base can keep growing.

Combo video maker Snoooootch has given us the opportunity to showcase one of his newest combo video collaborations! This will be featured as one of the main events during the tournament!

How big is the pool of players usually? Would it be worth my and couple friends time to make a trip from Fayetteville? Because it seems like there really aren’t many tournaments or leagues up in NWA, it looks like everything is in Little Rock or Conway! And we’re not new to the game just tournament play but we would really like to see if it’s something we would like to begin doing

Where’s the smash?

It’s at a bar. Children can’t go inside. :stuck_out_tongue:

If someone can give me a place to crash I might be able to make this. Obviously won’t be modding though. I doubt they’ll let me solder inside a bar, and I actually want to enjoy a tournament for once. #_^

Might be able to do one or two jobs the night before though.

Oh that’s dumb  are there any other events around AR (preferably closer to NWA) that are good?

These Arkansas tournaments are always worth going to. You should make the trip from NWA for this one. People usually travel from Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and other states for their tournaments. The crowd should be quite sizable.

Where the ARK AT!

Central Arkansas has the largest tournament scene in the state. Our tournaments do quite well and like pkrstsnt said, we have big turnouts from players from multiple states. We even had this guy that posted above me come to 2 of them. You may know Justin Wong. I’d say make the trip so you can meet the local scene and get some good experience in. We always have games going after the event too.

ARK can’t be the only tournament we have  will a wild Jwong appear?

No King of Fighters?

Still have some planning to do. If KOF will generate enough interest, we will do it.

Sweet! I’ll be sure to make an appearance at some of them and I was planning on attending ARK as well

Modern Warfare 3’s rules have been updated. Domination has been chosen as the default game mode for this 2v2 tournament. These rules are official MLG rules taken directly from their website. Get hype!

For our serious tournaments, we generate a large number of players. Our last major (ARK IV) had 73 players just in Street Fighter IV (over 160 total players). It is DEFINITELY worth coming down to one of our tournaments to experience what the ARFGN can offer. Btw if you aren’t a part of the Arkansas Fighting Game Network, you can join our facebook group here: http://www.facebook.com/groups/373796221942/ and visit our website here: arfgn.com.

There are a few tournaments scattered throughout the state, but we are the most dedicated to the fighting game scene. We’re working on expanding our reach, however. What part of NWA do you live in? We know a good amount of the scene up there so if you live in Rogers, Fort Smith, Bentonville, or Fayetteville, I can hook you up with players in your city. We’re also planning some big stuff up there in regards to tournaments. However, until that happens, the only real tournament experience you’ll get in Arkansas is in Central Arkansas.

Although this is SolidxPanda’s first tournament where he’s head T.O., the ARFGN has run several tournaments and (to my surprise) our tournaments are known internationally. Whether we have earned that much recognition, I’m not sure, but we definitely have a great thing going and we’d love to have you be a part of this!

You should come down here and train in the reverse hyperbolic timer chamber

Well I live in Springdale (like 15 minutes from UofA)

and I’m definetly looking for a more serious tourney scene. I think I crosses the line from casual to more serious when I bought my fightstick lol

This would definitely be a good first tournament experience then! Hope to see you out.

Do you have to be 21 fir the bar battles? I’m only 16

Nope. It’s open to all ages.

Oh Shweet. Well you guys I think I’m gonna have to say I’ll be attending! Time to practice up! If anyone wants to play on xbox live hit me up! GT: Dr Pwnelius

You know how we Arkansans are! We supply the hospitality as best we can! I’m pretty sure we can scrap up a place for you to stay. And even if you decided you wanted to mod, I could put you on! lol
