All i know is that as far as capcom games are concerned i don’t think there’s any other site that measures up to srk as far as at least capcom games are concerned.
Most other forums with the exception of maybe gamecomboes (?) and smashboards, and whatever the best tekken site is don’t even play games competitively.
i don’t like all the flaming either but who cares of some casual people think this site is a joke, especially when like 60% of the board don’t like fighting games and 90% of the board don’t even play competitively and actually look down on people that do.
LOL sf is dying because crapcom is a shitty company incapable of making good games. fighting games in general are dying, period, especially 2d fighters. The only reason kof is doing so well despite its shitty games and crappy graphics is because of all the otaku fan boys and gay anime lovers in asia and america.

I am afraid to say it but alot of you guys just come off as complete tossers. If someone liked demon was playing in the cades with you guys, would you act that way towards him. You really don’t know what you’re talking about at all. You may think that it’s because of the whole elitest crowd or asshole attitude that we have, but that’s only half of the story. Tell that to every other newly registered tosser who comes on this board with a chip on his shoulder and a mouth that’s writing cheques they can’t cash.
What I find most aggrivating on how these people can’t face a reality, the facts of a fucking video game; which for some reason they are taking more seriously than we would ever would. The fact that yes, we are top tier whores, and yet somehow they come in here telling us “Shame on you for being the scrub”, and lo a behold they tell us “You’re a bad person not to use mid tiers or try to balance the game, that’s already horribly unbalanced.”.
And then what do they do? They have the nerve to tell us to use other characters…stop being top tier whores; and guess what here’s the kicker, they command us to do this all the while contributing nothing to what they want. No techniques, no how to break into top tier with this character, no insight at all, just a bunch of hot air.
It’s like these morons would rather just sit the fuck back and relax and WAIT for a top player to say "Ok, I’ll give it a shot", use some low ass tiered character with a newly found gamebreaking technique. And then jump on the bandwagon saying: "SEE I TOLD YOU NECRO COULD BE TOP TIER, SEE I TOLD YOU SON SON CAN BEAT STORM," where instead of changing the status quo, they actually just shifted it to another bullshit character.
And what’s their arguement on why somehow they are more entitled to their opinion. Why somehow they are the shining beacon of "What’s right with arcade gaming". The Japanese does this…the Japanese does that. The Japanese play harder, the Japanese plar smarter the Japanese etc. etc. etc.

Orange Cat: Just in case Im amongst the group of which you are reffering to, Id just like to point out that while I do play Ken, I didn’t bandwagon on him, I always played him. Secondly I also do my part in playing characters that arent top tier (Akuma, Alex) but it doesn’t help much when Im the only one out of like 20 people who uses anyone other then Ken. It has to be something bigger then just one person “doing something” Trust me I wouldn’t be saying anything If I didn’t feel it has to be a bigger effort then that of a singular individual. But whatever, 3s is a lost case as far as America is concerned, and since I can’t play the true players half way across the world due to money issues, then I have inexorably moved on. It is what it is.
P.S. Notice how that statement was written politely? No I don’t expect you to return the favor.

a) People say stupid things all the time. I tend to not flame people for it, but I can’t blame those who do. Just look at some of the threads Demon Dash makes. These are questions no one wanted answered or have been answered years ago. I don’t even play Marvel and I know what AHVB is and how it works. It’s not that difficult to pick this stuff up by reading and lurking.
b) That’s because a lot of people can’t differentiate betwen “noobs” and “scrubs”. Lots of noobs out there get flamed for asking dumb questions. It happens, SRK’s elitist. Doesn’t mean you should take it personally; it’s the frickin’ internet.
c) I don’t see why people should pay attention to those who aren’t any good at the game. The JWong dickriding’s a bit excessive, but honestly, he’s a good player. Not like I find any of the billion threads on him interesting, but between JWong and some random MvC2 player in Massachusetts, who would you pick to idolize?
Go go generalizations. Every single person I’ve met IRL who plays competitively have been extremely nice and accomodating when I’ve had to travel. Those people also tend not to post on these boards. :shrug:
