I was only able to catch top 32 since I spent all weekend moving into my new place, but watching the tournament, it’s like the tier list doesn’t even fucking matter, aside from a few hard counterpicks. This is not ST, player skill factors way more than character choice in this game IMO.
It just goes to show how well the characters are balanced in this game.
There are still a few bad matchups here and there, but you are correct…player skill is a HUGE factor in this game.
Thats why I can’t stand when people say Abel is easy to play. That shit pisses me off. My poor little Ryder got beat by fuckin lame ass dieminion I believe, or buktooth. But, this tourny definitely goes to show if you dedicate yourself to a character, you can win no matter how “bad” the character is.

I’m just fuckin with you Abel takes skill, but admittedly, the better the player, the easier time Abel has. Not that its ‘easy’ by any means, but Abel’s one of those characters who’s efficacy grows exponentially as the player’s skill increases, whereas some characters have linear growth
You know I hate using breathless. But sometimes you just have to do what it takes to win. And btw, I’m buying spek’s stick for my friend. His name’s Trey and he might come out sometime. He’s never laid a hand on street fighter and I’m teaching him. So if he comes out, please welcome him
