um i’ve been in jax for three years now, not one money match has happened. a couple were supposed to happen but some backed out and the ones who did aren’t truly in the mvc2 scene. i thought jax mvc2 scene were friends who only played casuals. as for as people playing competitively in jax we don’t. not many of us travel for mvc2. so we don’t know how good we actually are other than jeff
Actually, I did play Julius for 50-70 (I really do not remember the amount) in a first to 7. I will not go into it but just so you know, MM do seem to happen when I am involved because I AM NOT CASUAL! Jason traveled before he knew me, you know who he went with?? No one, not a one “friend” traveled with him. Jason and I click up and what do you know, we are on our way to the boot (Louisiana) to compete in our games.
I guess that brings me to my next point, people will not travel with other people if they can not stand to be around them for long periods of time, (without a common interest to bond them, and there is only so much marvel talk to be had on a 20 hour round trip) friends on the other hand would love that chance to be around one another. I will put it like this…
Friends?? Are you serious… I would like the marvel scene as a whole to name all of Jasons kids. Tell me one of their birthdays. That is a friend, not some people you sit in an apartment with for 11+ hours playing the same game. You might wanna check your friends Jason, LOL. Where was the marvel scene for the birthday party Jason threw for his son? Playing marvel! Where was my family? That is a friend. You guys play marvel to have a friendship?? I stopped playing MvC2 when TvC: CGOH was first shown, I am talking back when Brawl was first released. I just did not like the game, it was just what everyone on the SS was playing and that is where I lived, so to better understand games I had to play the game with a scene. I did and now I do not need to continue because I play a game I really like. Period. Nothing more nothing less. You met me at an arcade where the only game that got any play was MvC2, and all I was talking about was how random and stupid that game was. Do not lie, because everyone knows it is true, I never liked the game, I just played it to get better at games.

Reading this reminded me why I stopped not just competing in fighting games, but playing them at all. I moved to Jacksonville and it wasn’t enjoyable anymore.
Two thoughts:
1)Regardless of how “scrub friendly” MvC3 is, you still don’t get hit if you blocked correctly.
2)As long as sports exist, it’s gonna be hard to take anyone calling a video game “a man’s game” seriously.

Nah, not really since MvC3 dropped, everybody is trying to up their game with the new shit so we can compete. We’ll still run over people in some MvC2, but it’s a rarity nowadays.
