Actually Spek just dropped all the info you need and more. I was actually planning on checking out the hd-pvr/fury setup but if he’s saying it’s more hassle and resources than it’s worth I’ll just go back to the drawing board. I hate resource intensive stuff especially when there are more elegant solutions out there. I had never heard that about the Hauppauge stuff before. Color me educated.
Also, thanks Sying for the thread link. All the research I did and I never thought to just check here. Durrrrrrrr.
Ooooh, funny you guys mention streaming. I’m actually building a computer an AMD Athlon II X6 processor with 16GB Ram, etc etc. I wanted to purchase myself a BlackMagic Intensity Pro so that I could stream/record some stuff at home and have the possibility to stream in the future.
I did hear about Spek’s setup and I’d love for you to help out for future tournaments if you are available. 
Spek needs a amazon referral link, he just sold ~600 in BMI cards lol
hit me up when you are done building it. that is pretty close to my same setup as well (i went with the AMD phenom II x6).
the major downside of using the hd-pvr, is it isn’t recognized by ANY streaming program. that means that you must run the hauppauge program for capturing, then use a screencap program to capture the area of the program you want to stream, and feed it into the software for the stream. that is just too many programs open at once if you ask me. my i5 dell laptop would hit 100% cpu usage using that setup and that is the reason why i built my desktop. the BMI card actually works perfectly with wirecast and the adobe FME programs. no need for a screencap. also, you don’t need wirecast to stream with, but if you want to be able to put names and info up on the screen…you will need it.

Ok got my alienware monitor ordered but it will not be here until next week. Took advantage of best buy’s B2G1 free deal and have a extra Mvc3 se and ae for tournaments. Also blazblue cs was on clearance for 20 so picked one of those up too.
Looking to upgrade my ram to 16 gigs, cause can’t have tyger having a better system than me lol.
Anyone in the market for 4 x 2 gig sticks? 50 bucks for all 4 sticks ddr3 1333.
What brand are those sticks? I’m interested.

Stock Dell that came with my XPS 8300. I am not sure of the exact model#. EVO monitors are on sale at amazon for 170 with a 20 MIR (form at newegg). I’ve got one for sale pending delivery of my alienware but i’ve got 2 people in line for them, if it falls through I’ll let you know.

Anyone know anything about modding / building a custom stick? Just put in my order for a Tek-Innovations case, so it’ll be a while, but want to get some ideas from people.
