Yeah I’m the curly headed idiot who was with those dudes. Roy is the guy you eliminated. Playing under “Vinyl Richie”. He myself and Bear are the people trying to set stuff up either Riverside or the Beach with the focus on 3s.
For what it’s worth I talked to one of the people at Hammer Hall today (a small tabletop gaming store in Riverside, basically corner of Park and King) and they said hosting stuff there would not be a problem at all. We could just do a weekly meet on either Thursday, Saturday, or Sunday and a monthly tournament there. We’d need a couple setups but as long as we threw a few bucks her way for using the spot she said she’d even go so far as to start advertising for it if it did well and maybe even throw in store credit or something to the winner. As far as games I was thinking we could either take a vote on what would be the best stuff to be running weekly… or we could just have multiple setups and always have one running whatever is most popular and then an “off” setup that is running something that changes weekly… or whatever we all want to do really. Maybe theme nights? I dunno.
This is all still really early in the works but would any of you have anything to say about this as a potential spot?
What nights of those three (thur, sat, sun) sound best?
Should we go with xbox360 setups or ps3 or both?
Can some people willing to meet there weekly bring stuff up to that venue to help increase the number of setups? I have one LCD that I could use (I could maybe buy one more in a few weeks) and one system and two sticks. TE and a custom and potentially one more TE (all xbox360).
Also, if we can get a potential head count that would help me with making sure we have enough space there and giving her a time frame as far as length.
Anyone like this location or those days? Let me know if I should pull the trigger on this.

I can provide a 27"tv and 360 or ps3. Sundays or fri nights are good for me. Thurs=school.
you have my attention. ill throw in my setup to help out if anyones interested to do this for the weekend. monthly tournaments would be fine too. whos in?
EDIT: oh, and unless something big happens that changes EVERYTHING, we need to be consistent about the days we go there and how we hold tournaments (tournaments shouldnt be too rough, ill just get a marker board if need be for brackets.). consistency brings people and of course more people means more fun. so i say we should do it.

Ok then. I’ll talk to her and let her know everyone seems to like Sat or Sun as the day. I’ll see what times are open and how wide we can make the window. Most likely we can start this coming weekend and just do it weekly after that. We can do the tourney like the last week of each month or something. I agree with the consistency thing. I’ll probably shoot for Sat. as the day. Is that ok with everyone as long as the timing is right?
Once I get the day and times solid with her we can actually break down how many setups we want and who is bringing that, etc etc. The people bringing the setups will basically be the ones kind of “running” stuff so we just have to make sure we are all on the same page. I like the marker board idea lordmugen.
If no one else has and HDMI cable I can track one down.
Alright she says either Sun or Sat is fine as long as we start after 4pm and end before 11pm (or midnight on sat) at the latest.
So what do we want to do for times? Which day? Remember if you are one of the people bringing a setup you’d need to be there at least half an hour early if not earlier so factor that into start time.
My vote is for Sat. but Sun is also doable… I’d just have to move some stuff on my personal schedule. Lets get a tally and I’ll start taking down phone numbers for people with setups.
[It should also be noted there’s a magic tourney there at 630pm on Saturdays but she said they just get pigeon holed into a corner so there will still be plenty of space for us. Just something to think about.]
I would say Thursday or Sunday are the best evenings. I would be there every week if you guys are playing AE.
im open to Sundays if more people agree to it. but if she closes too early on Sundays then that probably wouldnt be the best idea.
Well it goes both ways. Sat may close early but some people may have to go to work/school on monday

VERY TRUE, thats why i say we agree to a day in the weekend to play so we are playing on a day that everyone can get involved in and everybody is happy.
Sunday doesn’t close much earlier. Yeah like I said above she’s open Sat until 12am… Sunday until 11pm. So it’s only an hour difference. Plus she said it’s kind of negotiable if we have an actual tournament going. So it seemed somewhat flexible in that regard. Not that I’d want to keep her late just for our stuff but… things happen. She understands that.

I prefer either saturday or sunday but on sunday sometimes a dude goes to church( yeah I know unheard of on srk) after work. I say Saturday since the bi weekly was usually on that day.
