"Jackpot!" Cody Combo Thread

Messed around a lil in training mode.

The combo I was trying to achieve occurs at 1:04. It’s a lil tough for me doing it on pad. lol

When I played him, he used Gen.

If you replace the f.MP with c.LP/cl.LP then you have one of Codys bnb combos.

Is cl.MP into cr.HP 1 frame or 2 frame?

I have a lot of trouble with the cl.mp to cr.HP. The timing just “feels” like the cr.hp should be later.

I can hit c.lp to cl.mp (also a one frame) much easier, as the timing “feels” more natural.

cl.mp looks indeed weird. I feel like you “cancel” into c.hp -timing wise- has to be done way earlier then it looks

I have no problem hitting any of his links, just gotta hit training mode to get the timing down. It makes a HUGE difference btw.

I got a friend that plays Cody and I wonder if any of you would be willing critique his style?

He play on PSN by the name of DJQwikstop he’s got a few vids uploaded.

I just wanted to see what you all think of his play style. He get a lot of grief because of the way he plays. I say thats a good thing but anyway. Thanks if you’re up for it.

CH. st. FP xx Ex rocks > cr. FP xx F. CU

This combo stuns Seth for only one meter and allows a pretty damaging follow-up after the stun (EX rocks > U2 will finish it with a whopping 691 damage). Chances are that if you land this on another character, It’s going to stun them too.

Watch for invincible reversals of course.

This is a very damaging combo but it only works if you’re looking for a st.HP counterhit otherwise it’s easier to hit confirm into c.HP but it’s still viable.

If you just walk up to them on their wakeup and do the st. FP you’ll oftentimes get the counter hit. I guess they’re expecting a walk up throw so they try to crouch tech.

Hmm…I was wondering, can this combo be done => cr.lp, stand.mp, cr.fp ?

Yes if you are close enough. Both are 1 frame links so this is probably the most difficult cody combo around.

yes, but very difficult (two 1-framer). instead of c.hp you can also do a c.hk or ultra 2.

There’s a weird thing lol, I can do f.mp, s.mp, cr.fp no problem, but I can’t seem to be able to do the cr.lp, s.mp, cr.fp combo >< that’s why I asked :stuck_out_tongue: and thanks again for the answers x)

c.lp -> s.mp is a little easier IMO as it “looks” more natural. You are pressing the MP as the lp animation ends.
s.mp -> c.HP is harder IMO as it “looks” as if you “should” be pressing the HP later then you need to. As zUkUu pointed out when we talked about this another time, its almost as if you “cancel” the s.mp animation with the c.HP.

Why no go all out and end the combo with hk ruffian FADC U1 lol. That would be sick.

Well, I find the s.mp to cr.hp easier in fact…xD yeah, it’s as if you cancel the animation with it, but it’s just because you have to press it a bit faster, it feels more like a combo to me, not like the f.mp, s.mp combo, where you have to wait like 1 second if not more to press anything (looks Dudley’s combos …>< lol) ><

If I could put that whole combo at the winning round in the finals of a tournament, this would be so sick xD and many players would try and copy my Cody cuz it looks so cool puahah@
Too bad where I live, there’s too few players of Street Fighter >< When we make tournaments,we’re like a dozen, but we’re far from being noobs :stuck_out_tongue: haha

I doubt I’d be able to do that in training mode; let alone in a tournament heh.
