J.Wong vs Daigo

We gon’ need JWong’s input up in hurr.

I doubt he’ll post, but I’m still curious about the lack of EX rush punches. I can’t really say he’s wrong. I’d just like to know why he basically chose not to use them at all.

probably because he was having success with the super.

wong messed up bnb combos quite a lot

everyone at the tournament had frequent punishment errors.
playing in front of the biggest sf crowd ever has to take a toll on your execution.

Man, that was heartbreakingly close. Ah well, there’s always next year.

I agree 100%. I knew both players were great, but man…after this I am even more impressed and amazed at just how great these two really are. This was just legendary. Props to J. Wong for repping the USA and to both of them for putting on an epic show. On a side note, what do you guys think about the IGN insider deal? Do you think it’s worth it?

wongs 0-2 or 0-3 after leaving his seat. :wtf:

wow…I didn’t know people really looked up to great fighting games this much? Hmm…still haven’t seen the match yet, but I was mostly bummed I didn’t see any Ken’s, so I have to admit, I’m a bit biased and apathetic about the whole thing.

One thing I do see on a lot of forums is tips and stuff, and I’m just like er…ok.

I really liked seeing that Abel guy with his mix-ups, and I also like Diago’s Ryu, but not as much as Dan’s. Both players keep there gameplay simple, so they can think more during the match. Very effective. Jwong is a monster in what seems like all the big SF games. Wasup with that kids fingers? lol…

I can’t believe people actually had their speakers on…i hate commentary on matches, i only turned my speakers on to hear who was playing who, and then turned it off…didn’t stop me from catching some guy calling Ryu Roo all the time so now i will forever be thinking “Roo…” when someone picks Ryu…thanks for that whoever the idiot with a speach impediment was…

lol that was seth killian calling ryu “roo”

its ok to call the characters whatever you want brother.
we call guile “gwilly” and lately i have become fond of “zangy!”

daigo did to, missing the f+HP, cHP xx HP sho link costed him 2 rounds… even beasts like them can make execution errors, but I think that evened out. It was a great fight; I think Justin’s going to do pretty well newt month @ SBO

Really? You’d think he’d know better…

How do YOU get hype? :wtf:

Dude, I was freaking out every time he said “Roo,” too, lol. It’s like he’s trying to be true to the Japanese pronunciation, which might almost sound like “Roo” if spoken quickly, but even in Japan, it’s Ree-oo. I’d even settle for the Americanized Rye-oo over “Roo.” That just sounds goofy.

Who wants to bet the new pronunciation winds up sticking anyway?

One of the total newbs checking in~

This match stunned me. There is great beauty in this game, now far more apparent than when I was just watching Kindevu’s Rufus on youtube. I watched this match on the live stream, became super excited when Wong hovered over Rufus. Then I was super disappointed when he settled on Balrog instead… I realized pretty quickly that this was nothing to be disappointed about hahahah

Hell of an introduction to top-level SF4

Im glad this match was a hit straight to the face for Daigo’s groupies.
After this match, nobody cant say Daigo is better than Justin, they seemed pretty equal.
Daigo addapted, then Justin addapted.
It was a complete coin toss

lol@people correcting seth killian’s pronunciation of ryu.
he can call him michelle if he wants.

lol@people dissing S-Kill:

Guess what, if you work for Capcom, and you say it’s ‘Roo’, you’re fucking right.
