so let me get this straight… people enjoy his “gameplay” but dont like “him”… yet has never had a 1 on 1 or even a brief convo wit the guy… amazing.

so everyone is confused wit amping the crowd as showboating

does anyone watch the world series of poker?? know when they do the whole call or all in moment that guy/gal gets up an amps his collective crowd up an prays he gets that card an if it happens he is congratulated with applause an cheers

thats what justin did…simple.

i honestly don’t think most of you understand the art of amping the crowd to feed off of it to try to win. showboating is something completely different. you guys are crying about that shyt… man im glad the internetz was not as powerful back when you would be in a tourny an either you were getting “support” or you were getting “chastised” for who you were/used/from while you in the match… i know the “ol head/vets” can account for moments like that

Ive met and hung out with him, hes an alright dude. He went overboard after only winning one round. Thats the one thing that bugged me. I understand him cheer when he won the first match to tie it up. It was either win or go home. So that was fine but celebrating after winning 1 round was too much.

Yeah I HATE Justin for celebrating and trying to use the crowd to his advantage everyone knows the ‘only celebrate after winning the whole FULL matches’ rule.

Solid in his own region. Do you pay attention to tournaments he has been in? Here is 10+ years on the scene worth of knowledge for you. Diago has earned his status in his Region of Japan as did (Valle/Choi/Justin…etc.) did over here… in numerous games. If you are speaking of SF4, then u cant say solid but the BEST until someone takes him down when it counts.

DO NOT let casual play fool you (especially this)

DO NOT let his recorded round robin matches fool you

DO NOT let his weekly mini tournaments fool you

DO NOT let little 10-20 buck or free buffet on me money matches in a hotel room fool you

He has won the “world” championship and in the classic Apex point style fashion he is THE FUCCIN BEST. Americas BEST Justin took second. Regardless at the end of the day these guys until someone (hopefully within this community) comes an snatches that shine away. We may have years to see who that may be, but until then Diago/Justin stand at the very top (in the SF 4 standings).

4 years in this community an tournament scene is still fresh eyes. You still have to understand the “when it counts time” from the “oh well ill catch em at the next tourny…” trust me it will hit you and I hope you participate an pay attention to the more higher scaled tournaments (ie final round, midwest, sbo…etc.) an watch what the outcome is. Not such n such mini down the street after work tournament. Just watch an you will see and get a true understanding.

Koop I’m with you 100% however people who are just causal players cant learn by simply watching. I like Justin Ive met him played him a few times, got owned he was cool. Shit I’ve played Arturo a few times got owned all I gotta say is arrogance and conceit are understatements to his behavior but its all in the game of street fighter . Celebrating and showboating are different but all in the same for as crowd entertaining. this convo can run deep. Diago is the man his skill level is like the spurs in the NBA, you can talk about LA, Houston, Dallas whatever western team the Spurs is usually the top 3 year after year and if you want to win the ring you gotta get rid of San Antonio.

These Youtube vids are just the tip of the icebreg. His skill runs deep.

I still feel anybody can beat these dudes on any giving day, just gotta make it happen

I agree the thing at evo was amping the crowd but if you’ve seen him in other videos he can be much more disrespectful.

Yeah I just posted that I changed my mind on that.

It’s really not that amazing, when you are a celebrity you have to watch your PR or people will form an impression of you you might not like.

I am willing to accept that may not be what he’s actually like though. Maybe I was 100% wrong about him.

Marn gets up and the other dude goes to shake his hand, and marn extends his hand, but then pulls it back at the last moment and give him some variation on the crotch chop. WTF?! Dude was inches from shaking your justin wang…should just shook his hand and come off classy instead of risking the accidental ball grab.

Who knows, maybe the dude said something about px90 so marn felt justified. Whatever the case, we may never know the story but…it sure looked like poor sportsmanship to me.

even in front of close to 30,000 folks? I mean, I put myself in that guy’s shoes, and I think I just got eliminated from possibly losing to Justin or daigo (and if hell froze over, from having a chance at 7G’s). I go to extend the hand and I get a crotch in the face?! It’s salt on a wound, ad anybody who’s lost high-stakes at anything knows that despite how great one’s sense of humor may be, it temporarily leaves after a huge defeat.

But that’s just me being competitive.

Im as a big a fan of daigo as the next gamer but c’mon, he wouldn’t fuck around like that. I mean, I’m not even asking for video of him allegedly clowning in a match, just specific events and I’ll google the rest. I don’t count 3S taunting because those, esp for Ken, are beneficial and not just for show.
