I’m sure I’m not the only one to notice Justin’s ability to jump over fireballs perfectly to gain the most charge time for his Rog. That was what impressed me. Unbelievable spacing.
One more thing, Justin must have felt like a stupid dumbass for celebrating way too early and pumpin his fist mid battle to the crowd, i was neutral, but after that, I was rooting for DAigo. Show some class justin and get a hair cut. A real champion is someone who shows class and respect to his opponent, I know why you pick rufus because most of his move can be link to ultras easily, but why did you abandoned the character that made you the national champion. Daigo would never ever pick anybody other ryu against you stupid ass. Hey next year I’ll buy you some pussies since we know you going lose again.

nice
LOL @ trying to get technical to cover up your mistake. Yes, taunting is an in-game mechanic. That doesn’t mean that you can’t communicate expressions through it.
yeah at evo 2010, until then Daigo is evo champion and Justin Wong is the guy that lost to him. AGAIN.
NO way man. Im sure he didnt care that much. He was just living in the moment. You think that when he got up during the match, he thought he was going to win? Please. Everyone was having fun and daigo didnt take it personal.
I disagree kens 3s taunt made me hate his ass
Picking Balrog is not a counter pick. Counter picking is where you pick a character match that is in your favor, not even or slightly disadvantaged as Balrog / Ryu is. I would love to see how Justin’s Balrog fares against Mago or other top japanese Sagats. Balrog has a slightly easier time I think against Sagat because of the recovery time on Tiger shots. Well all seen how well Justin can play a very patient counter poking game, and we seen him almost effortlessly avoid Akuma fireball spam as Rufus even when he had no life to focus.
This was a great match.
Out of everything I read on this thread, 'This’ is what made the most sense to me. I’m not going to go on some long rant or anything about who’s right or who’s wrong but, those are great Outlooks on some OG Fighting Game experience. The way I see it is a Gamer’s is own unique style of playing is what makes a character different from everyone else s so u really wouldn’t know the out come of every match regardless of teir listing or counter-picking cause everyone has a different frame of mind when playing. Whether ur being a ass or a gentlemen if u got skills, u got skills and I can’t do nothing but respect that regardless of type of person you are.
I enjoyed the matches and I’m thankful I was able to see them. I would rep u if I could but that was dam fine posting there guys Good Shit.
I just had to post that even though I might get neg for saying my own peace…
People need to chill about Justin. He was just in the moment and getting pumped. I do agree that me maybe got too excessive when he kept getting up out of his chair, but you can’t expect everybody to behave calmly like a Daigo.
Now what was fucking classless, and trashy as hell IMO was the crowd chanting USA!
It’s not about what fucking country they come from. It’s about two great players, beating each others ass.
Way to make a foreign player feel welcome, like chanting USA like a fucking Mob.
This Japan vs USA beef is the fucking stupidest shit I’ve ever seen. If you can even call it a beef. It seems like we’re completely infatuated with proving to them that we can play at the same level. I’m not saying we can’t, but people need to chill, have fun, and stop thinking about trying to prove ourselves to them.
You’re lumping me in with a bunch of people you’re replying to collectively.
If you go back and look at only my statements you will see I am not “going back” to change anything, I was always talking about real life behavior vs in-game behavior.
“Taunting on screen = game mechanic, Taunting in real life = gay mechanic”
“Was Kuroda also running around howling at the moon in the middle of a match like Chris Farley?”
“There is a big difference between moving your character a certain way and being a prick in real life.”
Totally agree.
way to make it “us vs them” chanters
It might not be a counter pick but I have a much easier time vs. shoto with rog than Rufus.
I would love to see him play vs. them too. I main Rog in SfIV, it is a really hard match up. winnable but very hard.
Marn played vs. Mago in Japan and basically got owned. Mago wasn’t even playing for real. If you have seen any Mago vids…he does not play like that. he always backdashes out of his fadc to ultra. This was at a TRF tournament.

I’m digging the US vs Japan thing. I mean I’m sure if this event was held at Japan, the crowd will be all over Daigo. Nice to see the fans heavily supporting the “underdog” in Justin. However, was Justin just happy that he beat Daigo once or what? His over-excitement seemed a little pre-mature.
I was rooting for this guy to make top8 on the live stream.
I’m not kidding.
Ok Ok.
Yeah Daigo is a big name and him and Justin have some rivalry.
BUT When 4,000 people are chatting America and making it a hostile enviroment there is no need to run off after one round of winning. Possibly throw your hand up or something. Wait until the final round.
Daigo went from calm like this :Karate: to…
I don’t think he threw anything, I just think he was trying to bait Justin and f with him a bit.
I don’t know you…but that’s going in my sig.
perfectly said, Daigo Vs Wong was Epic. Wong played amazing. Diago played a bit better, and took the W.
Was so fucking hype.
/Close thread please =)
Great comparison!
