J.Wong vs Daigo

This shit is ridiculous. Its like half of the people in here have never a sporting event of any kind. Saying “USA” or “Go Justin” is no worse than saying “Go Cubs” or something like that. No one was saying anything disrespectful about Daigo or Japan or anything like that. Where the fuck are people getting this shit? Justin was playing to the crowd and they were eating it up.

Here is post win Daigo:

Couldnt have said it better. Im right with you. I um… dont understand?

post less please

To all the faggots who belittle people who joined a forum in 2009.

There’s two types of players. Ranking tournament players and everyone else. I dont care if you joined in 1800, you’re still a NOBODY. So stop trying to act elite because you hit the sign up button before everyone else.

You know Marn is an '09’er, but apparently he doesnt know shit either and he should bow down to you because you signed up in 2003. Shut the fuck up and go away.

Since you avoid my reply to you yet you attack his.

I know most of you will disagree with me. I’m not trying to convert anyone, I’m just putting it out there. Justin was doing some amazing playing, but some silly antics that can make that kind of crowd just sound obnoxious. I’m glad that at some points that crowd quited down and let them play, but you can’t deny that it’s distracting at worst and demoralizing at best. I understand that working through that shit is what makes pros as awesome as they are, but that doesn’t mean that pros should encourage it and act like it DURING the match. That’s all.

Shit is getting real serious in this thread!

Daigo received 2 roundtrips ticket to Vegas (and maybe hotel accommodation) from his last win at GameStop World Final. He probably gave “Dan from Japan” his extra ticket.

boxer, who the fuck is boxer?! his name is “FIGHT MONEY!!~”

as far as i heard his trip was sponsored, thats what i saw in another thread not too long ago, forgot who did

I’m not really even going to get into this, but in the US, you have two different schools of thought on crowd hecking and hype.

Golf/Billiards/Tennis crowd: STFU plz.

Basketball/Hockey/Football/Baseball: GET HYPE.

To me it seems that competitive gaming is going (more like “has been this way” but I digress) the “GET HYPE” route.

Personally I don’t really have a problem with it. Yeah, sometimes Justin clowns a bit, but lots of players do that. Shit…Sinsation was pretty hype, so was Devastation and Final Round.

The crowd hype makes this exciting, plus, what kind of absolute f***otry would it be if you had to have security at these events telling everyone to sit down and shut up…scene would die in a hot minute.

I don’t like the chanting “U-S-A” BS. It is just rude IMO. Chanting other things is fine.

Look at how a Japanese crowd is at an event, infinitely more respectful. It is a culture thing. Americans tend to be louder and ruder. IMO it is embarassing.

I would prefer humility and golf claps over antics, screaming and acting like children.

I prefer Ed Ma and John Choi Behavior over Marn and J Wong. They have self respect and class. They accept victory and defeat with a certain kind of quiet confidence. Maybe because they are grown ass men and Marn and Jwong are on the younger side.

lol epic quote.

Theres nothing wrong with getting hype and celebrated after you take the win to a certain extent. But in between rounds? Really… REALLY now? Come on have some dignity and respect.

I agree completely. For this fight, it’s absolutely mind blowing when those 2 were fighting the 4th and 5th round of the set. People scream and yell after each round but in general 3000+ ppl in the room were dead silence during the matches out of respect for the fighters. It’s extremely tense.

When there are 3000+ ppl in a room, security is absolutely a must, and the hotel will not risk their own necks to have that much ppl get hype and stupid shit happen.

But overall, it’s all good. EVO participants are very respectful. Props for all of you who attend the event

It’s pronounced kinda like “YOU” but with an R sounded growl at the front. If you can say Sho-Ryu-Ken, why can’t you folks just pronounce Ryu the same way instead of calling it Ree-yoo or Rye-Yoo? Morons!

You’re still posting?
