In the first set, final round, not only did Daigo miss a super, he also missed finishing a combo with an srk.
I still have a headache from yelling so much
Anyway, fucking amazing matches even though there were a bunch of fucking tools in the audience screaming throughout the entire match. This whole Evo was fucking amazing… well not really the WHOLE thing. Save shitty BB and boring 3S, everything ranged from interesting(SC4) to fucking hype(MvC2,HDr) to gdlk(SFIV). Best evo I’ve experienced. Without a doubt.
Boxer and Las Vegas just go hand in hand.
Very very excellent match. The hype went through my TV screen.
Even though Daigo did win in the end, it definitely ruffled Daigo. I seen that it threw him off when JW picked boxer. Threw me off a lil as well.
But in all, it was a excellent match.
Daigo had so many rounds to get used to J.Wong’s boxer. it was just a chess match once Daigo understood Wongs gameplan. Wong already knows Daigos Ryu, so that match only Daigo could improve and eventually pulled out the win once the gimmick was over.
Abel was such an easy character for Daigo. It almost seemed like Wong wanted to use Boxer all along!! And just did the switch to boxer for entertainment (shock value)
Loved it.
tight match. props to justin for puttin’ a good show
P.S DVD worth buyin
I feel as if Wong could have torn Daigo up if he had more time to prepare with Boxer. He missed a LOT of BnB combos and links during their play. All in all, he rocked house.
for all the “Daigo threw some rounds” bs. Comon really? Get that shit out of here.
Give credit where its due. Justin Wong put a lot of dedication into the game. I mean he even went to Japan to train for a while. He leveled up so much and did great against Daigo. Please don’t down play his hard work.
That being said, the match was super intense and was a great way to end EVO. Can’t wait for next year.
That match was a footsie clinic!
Still, J. Wong’s Boxer was deadly, I never thought he would use Boxer and to get Daigo down one loss with that. That switch from Abel to Boxer was probably the thing that prevented a full sweep by Daigo.
JWong reppin’ da Boxer fools! Great shit! Daigo’s face didn’t really show it, but his play said it all. Wong’s Boxer was fucking him up good.
Definitely buying the DVD!
New found respect for JWong.
Match was hype as FU**
I enjoyed it very much and was at the edge of my seat for most of the fight. A well played game by them both. Seems wongs trainin in Japan paid of a bit right?
I agree.
Y’all niggas need to ask yourself
“Would I throw a match with $7,000 riding on the line?”.
Yeah exactly. And for Daigo to be making an expensive over seas trip and having a family on top of that, do you really honestly think he’d risk going home with anything less than the top prize?
Justin was really at a lost with who to pick. I saw him play boxer at E3 for the 300 win record. Maybe he thought might as well give it a shot, Everything else was being shut down anyway.
Daigo’s performance is really something, especially with all the USA chants and booing. Very entertaining, think I might consider going next year even though I wouldn’t be competing.
Nobody was booing anything.
It was awesome of course, but after Daigo put Wong in the losers, I wanted to see Cammy vs Daigo’s Ryu.
how much you want to bet that boxer play will increase in Japan?
Best evo so far,as most stuff was interesting.SC IV was surprisingly good,GG was decent and Tekken VI was okay.IIIrd strike wasn’t all that good to be honest and BB is what it is.Just like GG,it’s just not all that interesting to watch.
MvC 2 was fantastic as was SF 2 remix.
Of course,SF IV was godlike.Perhaps the game ain’t bad at all,but rather already great and just a step away from being a legendary classic.
Legendary SF IV tournament ending with one of the greatest match of all time if not the best.
Daigo is simply the Roger Federer of fighting games.
TBH, I don’t think anyone else in the tourney could have put it to Daigo like Wong.
Maybe I’m wrong. Did anyone win those money matches against Daigo?
