J.Wong vs Daigo

Japanians?

Seriously?

Sagat?! Serious?! I guess you’ve never heard of Mago  fail post.

*edit ^^ beat me to it lol

“Japanians?”

Also, I think Marn rubbed off on Justin with the whole standing up before the crowd :encore:

Justin Wong choked.

But one thing has become apparent out of EVO2k9.

East Coast aka the Beast Coast is > West Coast.

Sorry folks, this is the truth now. West coast has been running their mouth for too long.

Mochiron desu

this match was so hype in person

fuck the people talkin shit about the stream and how people were cheering… are you serious?

and those dudes who said daigo was throwin away rounds… hahaha

get ready for that red rep

s-kill’s commentary was pretty good though.

how viewers tuned in for the final? it was around 9K for the 3S matches when i checked.

  1. people have been calling ryu roo since 1992. (people also call guile gulley). Deal with it.

  2. I think justin didnt pick sagat because before the finals, Several top players were having money matches with Daigo up in Justin’s room. He saw the match ups and saw things in Daigos game that made him feel more comfortable using boxer.

“roo” is the proper way to say ryu in japanese. It’s not ree-uuu…or it would of been “riu”

i saw someone say 22k!
i was too enthralled by the top 8 to remember to look at the number.

I see what you’re getting at and I agree. Rog may have been Wong’s best choice against Daigo’s Ryu, but I don’t think he’ll cut it against Japan’s best Sagat’s. With Rufus he has a better chance IMO. I think when he and Marn teamed up, he should have stuck with Rufus and have Marn choose somebody else.

But then again Justin’s Balrog really surprised Daigo. He devastated him in the first couple of sets. SBO is single elimination and won’t give the Japanese time to adjust. So unless Daigo goes around telling everybody “man, you guys better watch out for Wong and his scary ass Bison”, they probably won’t be properly prepared for what Wong has in store for them.

It was over 23k, don’t know the exact number but around there.

man, daigo was not hiding anything from anyone.
he was not trying to unleash some secret plan on anyone.
he played the same guy everyone has hundreds of videos of him playing and he won the tournament.
pretty outstanding.

I missed this match last night! Anyone has a stream of it?

lawl @ ‘Be Patient!’

Yeah, I heard that trick.

Thank you…S-kill wrong…

amazing finish, I was so hyped and I’ve only had 4 hours of sleep thanks to it, but it was worth it

You serious on that? Wow I’ve been waiting for that. I didn’t see much of that fight and what i saw wasn’t that impressive because my video was constantly skipping and freezing.
Can I find it on youtube or any other place?

Right. And the capital of Japan is “Toko.” If it were supposed to be pronounced to-key-oh, then it would be spelled “Tokio,” right?

Wrong. You suck at this.

:stuck_out_tongue: J/K I’m actually not at all “serious” about the whole pronunciation of… Ken’s rival’s name, it just really jars me to hear someone say “Roo” with such confidence.

…especially when it’s obviously wrong :stuck_out_tongue:

imo if justin went boxer first, daigo would have figured out his game sooner and won anyways. It was obvious he wasnt 100% comfortable with boxer but he couldnt hang with The Beast with Rufus or his main Ryu counter pick Abel (which he said he’d use against good ryu players @ devastation and did well there).

Daigo just has Justin’s number
