OK. So this past weekend I was at a “repair party” at this guy’s house who does godlike arcade repairs as a hobby. Lots of KLOV members (mostly) brought in boards to be fixed by the wiz of electrical troubleshooting. Lots of beer was consumed, lots of food was drank, some cool gear was shown off, and tons and tons of boards were repaired.
Since it was the most Tech-Talk-related thing I’ve done in a long time, the J&J card came with.
edit: oh shit, one entry per person? Here’s my entry. You can see home cooking, beer, MVS cart, and CPS2 boards in one shot.
I wrote this earlier but I’m not considering it my entry:
Just one work area. He has three, all about this well-stocked. A true professional-grade soldering/desoldering station, 'scope, JAMMA Test Rig complete with small (but very sharp!) RGB monitor:
Here is my entry, I was a little hesitant and low on ideas, but then my little niece grab my TTT leather jacket and asked me to take a pic, she loves to play Tekken (she likes to play with Panda) and she’s always trying to wear my jacket!!!
By the way, although she is only 3 years old and her little hands can’t even hold a fight stick properly, she pulled off her first Metsu Shoryuken on SSF4 AE the past week! I still don’t know how she managed to press 3 buttons…
Picture from GameWorks (a sort of arcade/pub type thing). Sadly I don’t have a small child to hold my postcard, so I had to improvise. Would like to thank random stranger for being a good sport. Managed to get a nice picture of a super comeback.
Finally uploaded the pic. Nothing special but it’s still fun to participate. For those wondering, those buttons are Qanba/Eightarc OEM 24mm screw in clicky buttons I got from the Eightarc dudes at NCR10.
I just realized I have a typo in my post up there but I will leave it.
Anyway jdm I would chalk up the inactivity due to peoples’ inherent laziness. Not saying everyone did this, but probably some people saw the low barrier of entry of just requesting you to mail a postcard to them and got excited at the time, but when the time came to commit, they lost interest. Basically the equivalent of saying “maybe” to an event on facebook.
So I was super excited about doing this, and planned on doing a wiring diagram in painted moss, but my bags were lost while traveling. I finally got my luggage a few days ago (right as I am leaving to go home) and was upset the postcard didn’t seem to have made it.
Than I looked down at my parents ridiculously dumb dog, and saw that she had found and eaten a partial amount of the postcard.
Seriously, the dog ate my homework on this one. Great idea for a contest btw.
