I was playing a few ranked matches just now and played some dude called shinbuk1. He was ok. I beat him the first game but he surprised me because I didn’t expect him to have so many of those short, short, wait, uppercut gimmicks. Well we played then he beat me and called me a lagger, I told him if we played again I’d let him beat me but he didn’t do anything deserving of a win and we went back and forth for like 3 or 4 messages.
He basically told me he is really fuciking good, been playing for 10+ years and whatnot. You’d think this guy was Valle with all his experience, BUT **(the big but!((T))) **after talking to him for a bit…I came to realize he didn’t know what the fuck he was doing. He just knew his one routine and stuck to it strongly. After playing him a few times, I could see how he came to have the 0 rank but it wasn’t because he was good. He just had tons of those short short wait uppercut gimmicks. Imma call em SSWUGs for short. Well his SSWUGs while extremely unorthodox (one of them was rh drills, w/ necro, jab spiral, take step back, low forward, take step forward, wait then when he saw a flinch he’d strong or fierce electricity.) worked for the first two matches, maybe. He always committed to his guesses on wake up and because I have a habit of expecting them to wait for a parry before choosing to attack, they worked more than half the time. We played a good…12 games? and I think it ended with me as the victor but I could be wrong. That’s not important, though.
The true point of this thread was to point out the distinguishing factor.
In my games with him I noticed that since I have the habit of playing with my food, I managed to get hit by a lot of weird things and through my GODLIKE perceptiveness I noticed that he rarely if ever capitalized on those awkward hits. This is turn led me to think that maybe he did them on accident. If he did them on accident, I can tell you right now that I am better than him, if only for one reason. I don’t do anything on accident. In any fighting game.
That is the distinguishing factor.
Pros and Dander alike don’t do anything on accident. Everyone else does things on accident a majority of the time.
Maybe I didn’t articulate it as well as I would’ve liked to but what I’m trying to say is:
STOP FUCKING MASHING AND PAY MORE ATTENTION YOU FAGGOT SCRUBS.
I’ve payed my dues, now suck my dick.
Oh yeah, another thing. Take the game seriously. I don’t mean get mad when you lose, because that’s not necessarily serious. That’s more like aggravated. By serious I mean you guys need to try to turn the game into something more than just flashing lights on that screen. I don’t mean make more lists with numbers on them, either. I’m talking immersion here. Become Ken, maybe take the tournament setting and treat it like an anime or something. Pick your rival and pretend you’re Ash. Treat it like a real fight. Realize your opponents are all emotion once they have more than a win on their minds and that emotion allows you to take the game’s 6 normal attacks and make them: angry(6 normals), confident(6 normals), tired(1-3 normals), annoyed(2 normals), etc, etc. Last hint. Seriously. Just watch them for the first round. Try to stay safe. Go the marvel 2 route, block low react high. Watch them. Make note of what their first attack in order to figure out why they MIGHT have done it. Pay attention to which moves they like to do most often because even a pros can be dependent, they just hide it well.
There’s still so much I want to type but I’ll stope here It’s like 4 am and I have to wake up at 6. ;_;
I take this game very seriously. I don’t even know why.
So yeah, scrubs on accident. Pros with purpose.
GET IT?! PROSE WITH PURPOSE
tbh it was all a build to this.
MUAHAHAHAHAh
