So I just tested this in training mode, I believe heavy tools of survival is a overhead (at least at lvl 4) with the dummy set to all block where it blocked it high and with it set to block everything but medium attacks and it got hit so.
So we have the slide for a low, a moderate speed overhead which ground bounces guaranteeing a combo, with select assists a sort of teleport mix up using roll and a basic forward or back throw to otg to super combo does around 55k. (haven’t done air throws yet but I’m sure there are combo’s there too) and good chip damage from level 4 normals. Seems like some good beginnings to Franks games
I was kinda joking on Frank/Dante/Vergil. But after seeing what Vergil is capable off it might not be such a bad idea.
What do you guys think? Or could one of you possibly try it?(I guess that’s pushing it though:P)
I come bearing a possible slick move for Frank, a possible easy to set up unblockable even at level 1. It seems practical when I try it in Training, unsure if it holds up in real play since I’m too busy to spend much time online at the moment. Tell me what you think of this?
Frank starts his f.H Thrown Object command normal, and simultaneously presses Assist to call someone with a Hits High assist, such as Nova (Centurion Arts) or C. Viper (Burning Kick). As soon as he recovers from thrown object, do cr.H slide kick. This should cover you reasonably well for the unblockable, I think? If you time it right, the pie should hit right as Nova lands and begins his kick. you can call assists during command normals, after all.
Edit: I’m told Richard Nguyen was using this on a stream a few hours ago, albeit using Dante in place of Frank, and it was working. We may have something very good here, if so?
dont know if its new or not but it seems frank can connect two supers, catch them with the servbot slamdance, then after its finish, take a snapshot into survival techniques, but this is work after you made lvl 3 or higher
If you connect the Servbot Super, you actually have enough time to use his :d: :df: :f: :h: move to start a new combo instead of going straight into a Super.
Well I use Vergil on my team anyways, but I never really got into Dante. However, Maximum Vergil does leave the opponent in a hard knockdown state so That’s always useful for leveling Frank up. Also, Jam Session is already a great anti-air, which Frank lacks aside from the Silly Face Crusher (which eats meter, so it’s not always available).
which vergil assist? from what i have been experiencing thus far is i think dante compliments frank better then vergil due to jam session and ‘the get to lvl 5 combo’. also i find frank is a really good battery, which compliments dante so well since he needs meter to do his extremely high damage combos.
oooo nice. I have been using a frank/ryu combo for the same thing (i find they compliment one another very well).
tatsu and roll for mixups, build meter with frank for denjin, and shopping kart does a great job of covering ryu’s approach.
I am thinking of going for a frank/storm/ryu(?) team in the future, but want to get more comfy with frank first. you can do the thc lvl 5 trick with storm, I am pretty sure.
how is frank treating you in the middle? I am tending to use him more on the front for battery purposes until he levels up then he becomes anchor/user. curious on how he is in the middle position.
Been playing Frank so far, but having a HUGE hard time following his survival Tactics L in the air. I can chain it to the M, but I can never get the S -_-. Is there a trick or something to it?
If you haven’t used your wall bounce yet, try this in the air:
M, M, H, Survival Tactics L, H, Survival Tactics M
There’s a specific timing for the second H but once you get it down this will usually set up a nice relaunch combo since the M tactics wall bounces. I think it starts working better at level 4 but it should combo with every level.
