I've covered wars y'know - Frank West thread

I was thinking maybe with hypers that stay out after you DHC like Round Harvest or Stalking Flare. I’m not getting my hopes up though.

Is Frank West worth playing as an anchor? Not sure how well he can get in/level up by himself…

With Hypers like those, I’m thinking a hard tag would do the trick. One meter, too.

Yeah, can someone with the game test Floating Bomb/Round Harvest > Hard tag > Snapshot?

I think it could work out. His shopping cart assist is supposed to be pretty amazing and you could always look for opportunities to tag him in.

Not to mention Frank probably has some x-factor combos that do solid damage and get him lvl 3 or 4 by himself.

Yeah I was thinking saving xfactor to cancel out vomit if I have a drink to level up. Has anyone explored Frank West leveling up on his own (with or without drinking)? Seems like a lot of things I’ve heard were with THCs and what not…

Keep your minds open, fellas. Don’t just give up and go with Dante. (note: not my video)

Brilliant! Thanks for sharing

Shame that the Inferno thing doesn’t work, I was really hoping I could use Skrull on my team. I probably still will, but will need to be more creative with getting Frank leveled up, thanks for clarifying!

A THC Seems to be the best ‘easy’ way to level Frank, but I don’t know any characters I currently use that would be suitable.

To be fair, the combo shown in the video above isn’t all that hard. It looks like the timing is tight, but the hand-execution seems really easy. The air part looks like… what, j.M, L Tools, j.M, L Tools, j.M, L Tools, j.M, j.S?

that combo looks like if you’re quick enough, you can cancel camera shot into one of his supers, preferably the cinematic for big damage. if not, it looks like a decent setup for reset anti-air grab super, which will equal death with a post combo.

Mind you, my execution sucks, but Stalking Flare doesn’t give you enough time on the ground to get Frank in and land a snapshot from what I can tell. Trish’s doesn’t work too well either.

Edit: Also, experimenting with Frank in second slot with Chris starting out on point. Shopping cart assist is rather useful for Chris’s zoning game, and they DHC well into eachother. Also, with Frank on point, you can use Gun Fire or Grenade Toss to continue combos after snapshot for extra levels.

Chun Li might be a possible fit with her hyakuretsukyaku assist, not to mention most of her supers tend to be long and with her buffs she might be worth using more anywho.

^ thats wat i’ve been saying for these passed days, And her :l::m::h: crumple which is alot easier now can bring in any character. So i’m going to put her on point first touch crumple tag in Frank, combo with Frank call chun li assist camera shot :s: sj air :h::s: land thc should be on lvl 4 or 5 doesn’t matter to me once i’m on at lease lvl 4.

This one might be easier. Only 2 reps and I think it only doesn’t work on the small characters like Rocket Raccoon. We were doing it on Wolverine earlier in the day.

Yeah, now we’re BOOYAH!

Ah, what a shame. But thanks!

At this point, we have three options for leveling up Frank.

  1. Run Frank on point. Without having to use meter and with multi-hitting assists, a Lv. 5 combo is definitely possible. Still, have fun with Lv. 1 Frank.
  2. DHC. Except you’ll need to burn X-Factor and two meters. (By the way, does Frank come in with the cart with any assist? Dunno if this was already confirmed.)
  3. TAC. The least creative way of getting Frank in. I hate this method so much, and I hope it never becomes the dominant strategy.

I’m going to try method 1 and see how that works out.

Something I just realize with Frank that is very worrisome…, he has no low other then the slide and that command low kick that otg’s. This is a big problem IMO.

Oh man. That sucks. I guess that’s Capcom’s way of saying that we should go for left/right mixups with Frank. This also means that Lv. 1 Frank seems worse off now, too.

Even at level 4 or 5 I don’t understand why people won’t just push block and hold up back for the most of everything with Frank. This is very not cool…

Does Cr. A not hit low?

We really don’t know his normals, could someone who has the game make a video showing all his normals?
