But the man looks SO GREAT NOW. I don’t care how bad he is or how bad I’ll be with him, I’ll use him every time. Joe/Frank let’s go.
Note: Still things to be determined/corrected, such as how many levels are needed for things, other things like what is he using during his leveled up air normals!? (looks like a green plunger, or maybe a cane with an emerald on the end?)
I also noticed his downward swing (air ok) groundbounces with the baseball bat, and hard knocks down on grounded opponents with the axe. Wonder if that’s airborne too.
Absolutely! Capcom addressed my major complaint about TvC Frank, that he just didn’t fight all that much like his Dead Rising self. This time they managed to strike a tasteful balance between using a few zombie summons to make clear Dead Rising is a zombie series and Frank is a zombie-fighter… and realizing that he fights zombies, using a lot of improvised weapons. They did good this time around.
I’m very happy, and currently doing a lot of ‘in my head’ work on developing a Frank (unknown assist)/Nova (Gravimetric Pulse shield)/Amaterasu (Cold Star) team.
catbond: Since ‘number of hits’ is the criteria for photos, I think that Amaterasu’s Cold Star, Doom’s Hidden Missiles, and Wright’s ‘walk around smacking court papers’ assist will be what people are looking for in that regard… or at least I’d like to think that, but I’m unsure if Frank has any OTGs outside of the camera shot. Otherwise the assist has to be an OTG hit of some sort, I believe, and Frank continues the combo himself off it?
A, B, C, task arrows + camera, B, C, (summon Doom missiles) S /-, B, B, C, air million stab thing, S, Camera, missile hits, camera, missiles end causing flip out into anti air invincible throw reset.
Excuse me while I vomit at another fine example of how Doom is going to be everywhere. Nonetheless, the combo you’ve outlined makes sense on paper and should give us some good ideas of what to look for when we hit the lab. Thank you!
Meh, balancing drinking when playing Frank looks no more strenuous than making sure you don’t over heat as Robo-Mitsu…I mean Robo-Ky in Guilty Gear. Frank’s power up seems actually more manageable since you may not even really need it as long as you score FANTASTIC comboes or get those nice pokes against some dude trying to throw crap at you full screen.
When i heard Frank’s a gimmick character i got little salty, but seeing it in action is cool. He gets stronger when match progresses, much better than Wright’s “i’m amazing for a little while” stuff IMO. I want to see his assists.
I’m going to build my team around him and probably put on point. So far he doesen’t look amazing or bad, it’s always hard to call gimmick characters.
He doesn’t seem to rely on his power up at all. He gets stronger and gets a slew of new moves, but his default moveset seems more than enough to go to town with.
You shouldn’t need to drink anyway. I would only drink if tagging out makes the timer go away so I’m assured safety, or I have a good assist to cover me.
Gimmick is such a harsh word, 'specially for characters like Wright or Frank. I like to call these type of characters “Momentum” based characters. Like Zappa in GG. You start off rocky, but the more “momentum” you keep in the match, the quicker you’ll get to the ultimate goal , wether it be Raoh or Turnabout Mode or Level 4 inebriation.
How many points needed to level up to be determined. Hopefully Maximillian can get this done for us~ <3
And I know for sure Frank is the one who will be played for the live action stuff. Nova seems too hard and Raccoon is definitely out. I’m guessing Nova is next with Vergil.
I wonder how many experience points/photos it takes to level up. If it’s possible to get to level 3 or 4 with only few combos, there’s really no point of drinking ever. Need to see Frank’s Assist me! video.
